Hauling 300lbs up and down the court takes a lot of energy. If Kofi can expend that energy over 25 instead of 35 minutes he can play at a higher energy level and overall probably be more effective. While he is our best and most valuable player, he can't do much when sucking wind with his legs going rubbery

Y’all are forgetting what Kofi does for us on the boards and defensively as well.

How far off am I on my outlook? A lot of this relies upon how ready Skyy is. A lot of moving parts yet as well.

Trying to compare to last years minutes distribution is much harder. This is a much younger team, which is why
It's far too early to speculate about minutes per game.

Well that’s it folks… wrap it up. Brosky has spoken. Message board dialogue should not stray from Larry Bird jokes and posting gifs.

Podz can fill the shooting void from deep....he knows how....he just needs a chance
Amen. The highlights I've seen also show Epps filling it up from deep.
Offensively he can handle the ball, shoot, and pass. Don’t know if he is quick enough to guard a SG. We have a lot of offensive talent but rotations are going to depend on defense imo.
I don't worry about Goode's defense against a shooting guard. He's extremely focused on defense and his basketball IQ looks exceptional to me.

I don't know any Larry Bird jokes. And I don't know what a gif is. But thanks anyway.

We are going to have weapons we have never had with BU as coach. Kofi will be able to play 26 minutes a game which will pay dividends in March. We can rotate the 5's and even go small ball to confuse teams. We will have multiple options and I can see still using a 9 man rotation in March as we will be that deep

I think people are really underestimating the role Harris can have on this team. Especially if we don’t get TSJ or Murray
He's got all the potential but probably needs the most development n Fletch work out of the new class. If we get TSJ/Murray he'll be behind them n Goode n Podz for playing time.

I like the broad strokes of what you have here, though echoing others that the rotation will probably slim down (but the player averages might end up close to this). I would think Dain will take all of the backup big minutes if he's up to the task, for instance, with BBV being used in case of emergency. Ideally we'd nab a guy like Murray that can occupy both the transfer sg and the veteran transfer you list here, though it sounds like that might be wishful thinking (at least in his case).

I agree. Somehow the rotation will be cut down. It will be interesting as always to see how that plays out. I’m really liking how this team can look if all the moving parts fall into place.

This forum is something else Recently I made a comment as to why couldn't freshmen play point guard for the Illini and I got ripped. Many posters told me every freshmen point guard in history. Today I made a post about not wanting to get a transfer point guard and let the freshmen play android all you would be coaches out there tell me which it is. got ripped for that.

I have a hard time imagining BU keeping Kofi on the bench for 14 minutes a game. It seems trivial, but I'm thinking 28 would be pretty much the floor

We tend to call that stimulating the conversation....keep on going.

I encourage you to share your views regardless of how people react.

Not sure how you got ripped. I explicitly stated it wasn't a personal attack, but a genuine question and then posed my opinions that differed from yours. And everyone that followed stated theirs with no attacks at all.

Disagreeing does not mean people are ripping into you. We should all feel free to express our differing opinions and openly debate.

Also, this board is not a monolith. There are a lot of people with a lot of different opinions on a variety of subjects here. Disagreement is common.

I didn't notice when that was from...any help? Even if before...he Can come back better and...as he said he couldn't be in a better situation than with Fletch!
Wow, he has great handles with either hand! That is a lost skill in today's players.

Kofi averaged 30 minutes a game last year and he was drained during many games. It most likely seems to be his size and how he is defended. Now if he loses 10-15 LBS in the offseason, it could help his endurance and he can play 30 minutes without too much wear and tear. We need to give Kofi breaks in the game as there were some games where he played 35 plus minutes. We do not need to play anyone 30 minutes a game as we saw what giving 30 plus minutes a game to 5 players and the same 5 players game in and game out. We have more flexibility this coming year to have a balanced attack which we will be able to wear teams out. We play 9 guys 10 plus minutes a game and we will be stronger by March.

I think a lot of that exhaustion also came from our offensive system asking him to fight for post position for 15+ seconds on many possessions. Hopefully a little more diversity in the attack means he can get some easier buckets on drive and dish plays. Looking back, Kofi played 27 per game his first two years, so maybe that's the happy medium.
