I always love players that can finish with both hands
Happy Saturday Night Live GIF

If you try hard enough, it's possible to finish with either hand. 😈

If we can't snag TSJ I think I'd be happy throwing Ty Rodgers in the starting lineup at the wing. I'd like to think next years team shoots the 3 at a better clip than we saw down the stretch in March this past year.

I think me and 4 boys at the YMCA could shoot it better from 3 than Illinois did in March. In all seriousness, what we’d gain in length with this starting 5 we’d be losing some in shooting. My guess is RJ, TSJ and Skyy(?) aren’t going to be 40%+ from deep like Plummer and Jake. Coleman is the big wild card. If he could be a ~35% shooter from deep next year, it’d do us absolute wonders.

I would personally happily give up a few percentage points towards 3s and trade for that length on defense, transition ability due to athleticism, and ability to drive into a defense which we really didn't have except with belo this year.

Yeah we may not make as many 3s, but it also means we don't have to rely on them since our offense won't be as 2 dimensional as it was this year (either kofi or 3)

Yeah, RJ and Goode are both 6-7. And they both have a bright future. As for SG? I think Goode would thrive there.
Offensively he can handle the ball, shoot, and pass. Don’t know if he is quick enough to guard a SG. We have a lot of offensive talent but rotations are going to depend on defense imo.

Podz can fill the shooting void from deep....he knows how....he just needs a chance

Clark (25) - Epps (5)- veteran transfer (10)
Transfer (28) Podz (7) - Epps (5)
RJ (23) - Goode (15) - Rodgers (2)
Hawkins (23) Rodgers (12) Goode (5)
Kofi (30) -Dainja (6)- transfer/BBV (4)

MPG

Kofi - 30
Transfer SG - 28
Clark - 25
RJ - 23
Hawkins - 23
Goode - 20
Rodgers - 14
Veteran transfer PG - 10
Epps - 10
Podz -7
Dainja - 6
BBV/transfer - 4

How far off am I on my outlook? A lot of this relies upon how ready Skyy is. A lot of moving parts yet as well.

Trying to compare to last years minutes distribution is much harder. This is a much younger team, which is why

I doubt we end up going 12 deep

You’re most likely correct. I had a difficult time with the minutes. That’s why I am just a lowly sales guy and not coaching I guess!

Open to hearing how you see it.

We also don't have the scholarships for two more transfers, short of someone leaving, and its a bit tough to predict that the second most minutes goes to a guy that we don't actually have on the roster yet. Granted, if TSJ ends up coming, he would likely get that much burn, and that could motivate one of our sophomores to transfer and open up a spot for another transfer PG.

Someone had to start this so we could all pick it apart! I'll suggest Dainja works his way into 10-15 even if it means cutting into Kofi time.
