Granderson is just a quick way to refer to Grandy and Hutch simultaneously.

I thought maybe he was a science experiment gone awry when Hutchinson accidentally got too close to Jake as he was submitting his name for the draft.

Man, how crazy would it be if Hutcherson actually gets drafted, and injuries were the only thing that kept him from seeing the floor for us as an AA-level player?

And before any of you freak out and start foaming at the mouth as you type out a reply to this post: it's just a silly hypothetical. Take a deep breath. We're just passing the time here as we wait for further roster developments.
Dear diary,

It's been going on a month and I don't know how much more I can take. The receptionist at the tattoo removal studio was snippy with me the last time I rescheduled my appointment to have the first two words and the punctuation removed from the cursive on chest that reads "Are We Elite?"...I blame John Scheyer. And Jereme Richmond. And too many more to mention. My therapist keeps pointing out the fact that I blame everybody but myself, but I've gotten very good at looking her directly in the eye and stating "It's going to happen!" with complete confidence. It *is* going to happen, right?

Would love to see BBV at Wright St or Akron. Two programs with Illini ties where he can get a lot of wins and a lot of tick.

Kofi does make everyone look like a guard. I look at Dain and wonder how he could possibly play center after watching Kofi, then realize that he's just normal college center size.
Plus, I’m not a basketball expert (baseball guy), but having a guy like Kofi pretty much turns the other four guys into functional guards. Jake was playing a lot more similarly to Trent as far as basic in-game actions on offense (i.e., moving the ball on the perimeter, shooting threes, trying for an entry pass to Kofi, etc.). It seemed like with Kofi, we more or less nixed the traditional “4” spot, and I think in today’s game a “3” has more in common with a guard.

this team is going to be about as inexperienced as far as returning minutes/scoring goes since the 2017-18 Illinois squad. This team will have a talent edge undoubtedly (Black as a r-Jr. could hang of course but the rest of the veterans, which were Finke, grad Transfer Alstork, Lucas, Jordan and Kipper couldn't) and freshmen Frazier, Smith, Willliams and Eboigbodin will likely be noticeably worse than the incoming group) so I am not saying we should expect to go 4-14 in Big Ten play (or 4.444 - 15.555 to make the exact equivalent with 20 games), but I do think people might need to start tampering expectations a bit.

I think you may be right unless we get that guy from Northwestern, if he has entered the portal.
A transfer, Coleman, Ty? Any of those
Sure...just anybody who may stumble into the program.

So given our current roster. I’m predicting something along the lines of minutes.

G- Clark- 32, Epps- 8
G- Epps- 22, Harris- 18
G- Melendez- 30, TY- 6, Goode- 4
F- Hawkins-24, TY- 8, Goode-8
C Dain 22, BBV- 12, Hawk- 6

The removal of BBV throws a wrench in this. It was only 12 minutes but those were key minutes I don’t think Lieb can make up

This reminds me of the parable of the Chinese farmer.

Ha! There have been soooooo many times I’ve thought about sharing this. Today wasn’t one, so I appreciate the reminder. Thanks.

Really like BU's comment on developing RJ. If he is going to be integral to the offense, he must go beyond taking what is given to him...which he can finish quite well with numerous scoring ways. Instead, he must learn to handle and get to where his primary opportunity exists....then if that is thwarted...he must be able to get to a second spot and so one....all without turning it over and making good decisions. Patience is such a big part of this along with the judgement to do the right thing that Liddell and his predecessor, Evan Turner,,,both if whom seemed to never make a blunder. Few kids, however, have that kind of patience and understanding...such a rate thing. Sure looking forward to watching RJ grow.

Anyone else watch Coleman talk and get the feeling like he is gonna play elsewhere next year? Seemed uncomfortable talking about his relationship with BU. Just my takeaway

BU didn't promise him what he wanted? (Be the man?)

Getting 2 proven contributors via the portal would be ideal or we're looking at a hoping Whisky surprise re-tool albeit with more talented "unknowns". Need big jump from RJ, Dain to be as advertised or better and freshmen pg's to be ready to roll earlier than later. Certainly can happen.

With this much turnover, it’s gotta be hard to understand where you fit into the picture. He did say something about an exit strategy - even if he also said he was planning to return - so that does make me wonder. I guess he’s keeping his options open until the dust settles? Which I think isn’t going to happen before the penalty free window of the portal closes Friday. So… crazy times for sure.

Lack of exit interview, communication with the coaches hasn’t been easy, CoHawk is returning BUT let’s see how the dust settles. Whoof talk about confidence in coming back Coleman, yeesh.

At this moment his table is set here if he wants it.
