Is there really information that supports this? I don't know if I believe that yet. If BU thinks he can help this year, I think ZP will play. Considering the environment with the transfer portal, that he may have the talent to not stick around for 4 years, or the option of graduating and going home. I certainly wouldn't be thinking to preserve another year of eligibility. Its not the same as Luke Goode, but......

Well, Indy and DB11 liked the post and they both have some level of connection so take that as you will, but it seems unlikely he will play a significant role this season. Not saying he won’t ever see the court.

Ok. I certainly don't know his level of readiness, but I do respect the suggestions/hints from those guys. It was just a thought. Eh, maybe it was the drugs?

I don't think it's about preserving eligibility or talent but knowledge of the systems. BU has said he won't put him out there if he is going to hurt the team because he doesn't know what to do. Just doesn't have the practice time to be fluid enough with the offense and defense to not be a liability.

Long watch and I don’t agree with a lot of what they are saying. Some interesting and then some concerning tidbits.

They said in no way we’re the rumors they heard substantiated, but the one that has not been discussed on here was that Epps is not happy. Any insight?

Hopefully this is all just a bump in the road and winning cures all.

I watched the first 20 minutes and really couldn’t watch anymore. This sounds a lot like Trent vs Mark Smith. Trent beat him out and Smith wasn’t happy, even though he started a lot of games and was given multiple opportunities to produce. I wish the best for Skyy and hope he comes back and is a great teammate and contributor.

They also talk about how Skyy transferred. Maybe he will, but it came out he has stepped away from the program.

They obviously taped this before the Wisconsin game because they were convinced we would lose this game. How could this game even be close. We all know what happened.

agreed, there are guys starting right now that could've used another month or two....give him an offseason plus practice time this year going against Cohawk, Mayer and Dain and he'll be ok.

One is a Michigan fan who has all but adopted the Illinois team as his own. He is the creator of the Daddy Brad nickname as he says that Underwood is his and Michigan's daddy. The other guy is a Michigan St guy who picked Illinois to finish only behind Indiana, it's not like these are run of the mill Michigan fans who are trying to bash us no matter what the circumstances.

That's all fine with me, I just have major doubts that they know anything about... well... anything. :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, these guys don't know the reality of BU's history at Illinois. They only started really paying attention to Illinois this last offseason because we stole TSJ from MI and Ty Rodgers from MSU, their teams. They gave BU a lot of credit for his offseason moves and recognized he was the most recently successful coach in the B1G. That got them a lot of views by Illinois fans, and like most people on Youtube, they want the views. So they continued to be complementary. Now at the first sign of trouble, they assume the worst. MI was 3-0 in B1G and we were 0-3, so they felt a little cocky going after BU and this team. Might not be getting as many Illinois eyeballs in the future.

To be fair, there are a large number of Illinois fans with the same questions and going after BU in the same time frame. Many on here thought we would lose to Wisconsin too.

I'd be curious if any of our insiders chime in here re: Epps. He seems fine to me, and he's gotta know he's one of the leaders of this team and will be for as long as he's here.

This is a good video. Thanks for sharing. I tend to forget about some of those outside factors and put too much emphasis of things happening on the players although they do still own a piece of the pie.

That being said, at some point players/kids do need to do what’s right for them, even if that is branching away from the parents a little. Every healthy relationship goes through that. I hope Skyy can find a way to stand up to the powers that be if this is the case, and choose his own path. THAT will help anyone grow up. Learn from the bad and be thankful for the good.

Agree overall. It is very difficult for a young adult to break away from parents who are deeply involved in all of their decisions. The parents have to help the process and unfortunately there are parents who can't let go.

Is anyone else saying that, or is it just Bardo? Why do his parents want him to leave?

On a related front, is Skyy going to attend classes at Illinois this semester? What happens to his eligibility to play if he does not attend?

I think what Bardo is saying is that the kid is between a rock and a hard place possibly. Being influenced to leave, while possibly wanting to stay?
As Bardo points out, when he's moved around as many times as he has...it becomes clear it's not necessarily about him. He's not paying for the moving truck.
