I thought our athletes knew better than to eat poppy seeds.

Watch out for this poppy as well!

My wife is friends with the janitor at the Dr. office where Goode is getting checked out. No kidding, this janitor has been dating with the nurse practitioner who works for said Dr. Well anyways, this nurse practitioner never sees Luke, but she said the receptionist is a good friend and that Luke was smiling.
Your new name should be LoveTriangleIL. Lol

Meanwhile, in the back office, Dr. Evile is glowering at his steepled hands while trying to determine where to get the "volunteer" for his next experiment. Maybe that loose lipped janitor he thinks. No. Dainja think goode epp mayer be ty hard to find.

I think what Bardo is saying is that the kid is between a rock and a hard place possibly. Being influenced to leave, while possibly wanting to stay?
As Bardo points out, when he's moved around as many times as he has...it becomes clear it's not necessarily about him. He's not paying for the moving truck.
LET'S GO GET SPARTY!!!

My daughter knows the practioner’s hairdresser so there is that going for my insider status.

I'm friends with a guy that works at the bagel shop off the main entrance of that building, and he said that a guy that looked a bit like Luke once had a Poppy seed with Veggie cream cheese, but didn't finish it.
Fake news.
No one eats poppy seed bagels on purpose.

Inquiring minds want to know...how has the departure of Skyy affected the chemistry of this team...2 games in?

Gotta type out the path this news took.

Luke Goode smiled at the doctor’s office. (Which may or may not have anything to do with his foot, maybe he’s just a happy guy)

Anyway, Luke smiled and then the receptionist saw it:

Receptionist told the nurse practitioner who told her boyfriend the janitor, who told his friend your wife, who told you who told us…and the message was simply “Luke Goode was smiling”.

Absolutely wild and I love every part of it.

Never change Loyalty!

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Brad Underwood had three words to describe Jayden Epps.
“Gifted bucket maker,” Underwood said. “Those guys translate. The one thing in evaluating him is his game translated because his ball goes in a lot.”

That’s been part of the reason that Epps has been able to carve out such a big role with the Illinois men’s basketball team (11-5, 2-3 Big Ten) as a true freshman, playing nearly 30 minutes per game in Big Ten play.

So where is Jayden going to end up on our all-time leading scorers list after 4 years? If he stays healthy & sticks around he's going to skyrocket up that list.

Epps earned the nickname "Buckets" in my house during the Texas game. When watching from the couch and he enters the game my neighbors usually hear "Buckets" [in my best Gus Johnson impersonation] followed by a hearty Ric Flair "Wooo!" My kids have named him "Buckets Woo!", but being the good parent I have explained to them that the woo is merely an exclamation of joy for the aforementioned Buckets.

We should absolutely be building next year's team around Epps as a volume scorer. Which means, incidentally, that PG duties need to lie elsewhere. Epps is a smart player and good ballhandler and is doing remarkably well for a true freshman, but distribution is not his highest calling.

I was just kept remembering how excied everyone way when Epps committed. It kind of dissipated, but I kept watching. Epps will just jkeep doing this with even more minutes. I already like Epps a lot. If he were here for 4 years, I can imagine what this team will accomplish,

Skyy was not the issue. It seems it was those around him and likely his dad. I think what Bardo posted has merit. Epps and Harris certainly were off to a better start so far. That doesn't mean that Skyy wouldn't help this team and likely still has a higher ceiling. I hope he gets his family issues worked out. When he left he had nothing but positive things to say about the coaches or his teammates.
For me the reason we are playing better is BU made the initial mistake of switching everything on D and Offensively playing 5 out. He has changed those things and the team now has had time to adjust. I am concerned how bigger guards like PSU, Wisconsin, MSU, Rutgers and others have that will require help. I hope Skyy comes back. He is very talented and players adjust at different places especially when the system changes and negative influences that he loves from outside the program are stressing him out. A break may be the right thing for him to tell some folks that this is my life please let me live it. That doesn't only happen with athletes, it happens with lots of teenagers.

I'm headed over in a few hours from Ptown for the game. I hope we can continue our roll. MSU and their guards will provide a big challenge. I expect Epps, Harris, Rodgers and all our squad to bring the heat.
