On BU’s lack of postseason success, I recognize you’ve got to win games but I also don’t think it’s arguable that Loyola and Houston were both brutally tough draws in the round of 32 based on our seeding and their respective KenPom rankings. My question is if we had met either of those 2 teams in the sweet 16 (which is probably where we should have met them) and bowed out would that change the narrative at all? And if not I think we just need to acknowledge that the NCAAT is pretty much a crapshoot in this era of parity and so long as we keep making the tourney, we have as good a chance as being a lower seed that makes a run as any.
Last year was definitely a bit of a disappointment given the talent amassed but we still finished over .500 in the BIG, made the tourney, and had our 2 biggest non con wins in the BU era. Given what we lost our AA center and most of our core rotation pieces, hard to be disappointed too badly.
The thing I like about Brad is he learns and adjusts. I think he learned from last year and brought in experienced, bigger guys who can pass and shoot. RayJ was a big miss and May cap our ceiling, but I’m excited to see how our young guys progress and merge with our new vets.
