I had no idea there were schools that actually had carpeted gym floors. Was that supposed to be an improvement over the super slick square tiles? Or a multi-purpose building for acoustics?
I think they were generally multi purpose. I played against a couple Catholic middle schools that had them. Literally had no hair on my leg because of rugburn for like half of a school year because of it.

Ball had a buldge where the bladder had ruptured. Grooves were pretty much worn away.
I had some nice ones but ill show my age than I saved and bought but I found this at a garage sale. As I young teen my favorite was an ABA red, white, and blue leather ball. I liked it since it looked cool in the air and I worked on my shots rotation! It was stolen like so.many others at Huff! Lol

The old Flora jr. high school (Mckendree I believe) had carpet....probably less expensive to install and maintaining it was pretty easy...just run the electrolux over it occasionally .....however alot of turned ankles if I remember correctly

In the alley behind my condo in Chicago, someone nailed a bottomless plastic milk carton to a telephone pole for a net. An old square of plywood is the backboard. Honestly, it's beautiful.
Growing up on a farm my first hoop was on the side of a corn crib. It was a 1/4”x 2” piece of bent steel in a circle and lagged onto the building about 10’ above the grass. We had to mow the weeds down before we played.
I could shoot when I got to jr high, but needed some serious dribbling therapy/instruction.

It was just an anomaly that ended up being a phenomenal home court advantage. It is wood floor now.

Carpeted gym floors are almost exclusive to churches who use the gym for social events, polling stations, and other large gatherings. Also rent them to rec leagues. The carpets are durable and very thin while providing exceptional traction...even when wet from perspiration.

You haven’t lived until you’ve played basketball on a carpet gym floor and falling on a fast break during your freshman year because you didn’t account for the ball bouncing differently or puberty giving you a lack of coordination
Zion Lutheran Grade School in Lincoln had carpet, and Carrol Catholic had white tiles. Fun times.

I feel like it may give them an unfair advantage in crabwalk race times. Should probably asterisk the records.

Yeah that seems like an obvious troll/joke
You gotta admit they've learned a lot from the (stupidity) of the political scene. They say the footage will never come out, so when it never does, instead of proving them wrong, they'll insist it proves they're right.
