As the season goes on looking like a complete rebuild

Can’t see DGL returning
Not sure Ben gets another year in Champaign.

I hope the trust with DGL hasn’t been eroded beyond repair. I feel like he’d need to be guaranteed a starting spot and a bag of money to stay.

Culturally, DGL and Rez are so important to carry and live out the EDG mentality. I think Jake has bought into that too. Hope Tomi has too. He’s definitely tough. That would be a great core 4 to build around.

I'm sure some people are too embarrassed by it but it would be funny to leave it for a year or two and then bring Shannon back to fix it.

Why would Ben be fine coming if the bench next year when he's not fine doing it this year. Time to move on from him... End of story

I think Tomi, Morez and Jake will return. That's a lot more than we had coming back from last year.

I don't know what to make of Kylan: it seems like he'd about have to return, but he hasn't been the best fit offensively, although he has been important defensively.

Transfers for next season on the team the staff should be looking at shooting, ball handler, solid big to back up Tomi and Morez, and can we get toughness please?

Sounds good to me, as long as we also get at least a couple decent veterans in the portal this go round.

I’d also prefer to keep the number of 1-and-done freshmen to 1 at most.

Really seems like it will be hard to keep DGL at this point though. Brad doesn’t seem to be as high on him as this board is.

We’re experiencing the highs and lows of life this season.

Return Tomi, Jake, Morez, DGL, and Ben if he's fine with coming off the bench. Everyone else on this team is expendable
Boswell onto his 3rd team in 3 years?

Kind of getting mixed signals though. Are we just sick right now?

Or are a few players underperforming and discontent with their roles?

Of course, the answer is probably a little bit of both. But the latter seems to explain more of our poor performance the last 10 or 11 games.

^I'd be good with that by the way.

I’m not sure this team makes the tournament at this point…

At least one team will make the tournament- watch the ladies play.

I remember when BU was hired he had the reputation as having a really innovative offensive mind. What the heck happened?
The lowest point total we've had this season is 64. We have scored 90+ 9 times this year. In 2015-16, we scored under 65 points nine times.

Y'all got drunk on that Oregon win and forgot how things used to be around here.

Are you surprised? Arizona fans didn't want him and I don't think we want him either. If you shoot 20% from the field you have to be a good slasher (kadary richmond for example.) how many missed layups this yr? playing him over lawhorn is malpractice.

This type of sentiment is expressed somewhat regularly here, and I think it is a fair point.

However, I also think we need to remember that both of these things can be true at the same time:

1) yes we are in a way better place now then we were 10 or so years ago, and people like Brad, JW, Ayo, Kofi, Trent, TSJ, etc have been instrumental in getting us to this place.

2) we could a better team than what we've shown in aggregate so far this year if we could improve in areas such as turnovers, 3pt shooting efficiency, free throw rate, shot selection, points in the paint, etc.

At the end of the day, the frustration just comes from being fans of the team. Kind of comes with the territory I guess. I will root for the laundry no matter what.

We scored 74 points last night shooting 43% overall, 33% from 3 and 14 turnovers and that was considered a terrible outing. It's really been the defense that has been suspect recently.

I'm a layman in that I haven't coached anyone older than 10 years old and haven't played competitively since I was 14. Having said that, it is blindingly obvious that our offense is extremely simple and easy to defend, especially compared to a Purdue. We have 3 guys (at least) on the roster who will be collecting big checks professionally in a few years, so it is not surprising that we can put points on the board against teams that don't play defense.

BU came in here with a reputation for having an innovative offensive mind, and from what I can tell he is less successful version of John Calipari when it comes to coaching.

Seriously, what has happened to this team defensively? Earlier in the year I remember our defense being rated much higher than our offense. I think at one point we were close to a top 10 defense, but now Kenpom has our Ortg at #15 and Drtg at #31.
