I imagine the two throwbacks aren't going anywhere. I would also be surprised if they outright made one of the throwbacks the "primary" jersey. But my guess is that we get a refreshed base set.
Can we make the fighting Illini “throwbacks” a base set with orange and blue sets with white Illinois as alternate and 2005 Illinois as throwback/orange alt??? Please?

What is Hutcherson's status at this point? Eligibility-wise or his intent? I haven't heard or seen anything. But he basically hasn't played basketball in 3 years. He had a transfer year I know but idk whether he has gotten any medical redshirts.. add in a covid year. Does he still have 3 years of eligibility left? Or 2 since he was maybe medical redshirting during that covid year anyway. Or is he just tired of rehabbing and calling it quits?

Geography question. How is michigan state and west virginia in the west and Illinois in the east?

The Dallas Cowboys are in the NFL East. And the Houston Astros are in the AL West. And Houston is East of Dallas. And both are the Deep SOUTH.

Dallas is East of... what... Hawaii?

And Houston is West of what... London?

Guess since Earth is round... everything is East or West of SOMETHING.

Given Kofi's size, weight, and footwork, this may not be crazy. It may be more lucrative than a non-nba career. I don't know how many years it would take to catch up though. Maybe he can join the Illinois football practice squad to explore the option.
Would have to be a tight end. Has hands and speed for it and could be taught to block.

Quotes definitely taken out of context
My take on IF Kofi returns for his senior year:

1) I don't expect BU to expand Kofi's half-court offensive game to include anything outside of 6 feet from the rim. But I do think he will continue to work with him to make him more effective in that 6 foot zone.
2) I would hope BU will have his trainers really set up an off-season (and tapered in-season) program of AEROBIC conditioning to obtain and maintain a much more solid aerobic base. Running, bicycling, rowing, swimming ... preferably all four in some combination, but predominantly running. A solid aerobic base is essential to being able to run the floor and to avoid fatigue down the stretch of the season. Aerobic is money in the bank ... anaerobic is money taken out.
3) I would love to see BU then get Kofi and the team more involved in an up tempo offensive scheme that is employed far more often than before.
4) I expect BU will continue to develop Kofi's defensive zone further out when necessary.
5) Rebounding drills and awareness ... the guy should be getting 15 boards per game.
6) Free throw shooting drills ... less thinking, more fluid routine the same time every time.
7) ANY expansion of passing/assists would be an improvement ... at the very least instinctively knowing when and where a double team is coming from.

David Kaplan on his youtube show The Rush tonight dead seriously said he wants to get Kofi to play tight end or offensive tackle for the Bears instead of playing in the NBA. I don't even know what to say about that lmao.
Antonio Gates, from the Kent State basketball team that went to the elite eight in 2002, did not play football at Kent State. Went on to a wildly successful 16 year pro football career as a tight end, mostly for the San Diego Chargers.

There are multiple examples of these, Jimmy Graham is another. But these guys are 6’5 6’6 and run 4.5 40’s. Kofi is 6 inches taller 60 pounds heavier. He would probably run in the mid 5s?

The true north and south poles are neither east nor west of any point on the earth’s surface.

So his time is based on his weight? BU said he was the fastest down the court but what does he know.

So are we getting new jerseys next season???

I would really like to keep the cursive Illinois and just make a navy blue version to match. Did we wear our blue jerseys even once this year?
I know we won’t wear throwbacks all of the time, but we should. They’re INFINITELY cooler than the regular ones, and we don’t at all “save them” for big games; they’re pretty much our regular ones at this point. The hard part is we effectively wear two different, equally badass, throwback styles.

One thing is for sure … we must see the blue “FIGHTING ILLINI” throwbacks at some point, and for 2024-25, there has GOT to be an ‘05 era throwback or two.

Marcus Pollard from Bradley became a pretty good tight end, but I see Kofi as more of an Ed ‘Too Tall’ Jones defensive end (if anything in the nfl).

I wonder if the Wooden Award committee was made aware that Kofi is unathletic, a terrible rebounder, and has no functional control over his hands before they decided to honor him as an All-American (for the second time). Someone should probably let them know.
