What is Hutcherson's status at this point? Eligibility-wise or his intent? I haven't heard or seen anything. But he basically hasn't played basketball in 3 years. He had a transfer year I know but idk whether he has gotten any medical redshirts.. add in a covid year. Does he still have 3 years of eligibility left? Or 2 since he was maybe medical redshirting during that covid year anyway. Or is he just tired of rehabbing and calling it quits?
Has 1 year left if he wants to use it. Probably not gonna though.

I wouldn't mind a road uni that incorporates the same powder blue/orange as what the baseball team just unveiled.

Hard not to notice how heavily the B1G is represented in the shooting contest but has no one in the dunking contest. I wonder if the conference’s under performance in the tourney the past couple of years boils down to athleticism.

Well, there’s 1 ACC player. 1 Big East. 0 PAC 12. 0 Big 12. 0 SEC. Not sure that has any correlation to tournament success.

Doubtful. Definitely some solid athletes in the B1G. Jaden Ivey for example would kill this dunk contest but you aren't going to see any of the top prospects there.

Lack of NBA talent over the past few years is definitely something that would be arguable, but this year you have Ivey, Murray, and Davis all as top 10 projections with others like Branham & Liddell from OSU, Bryce McGowens from Nebraska getting 1st round projections (using the Athletic's latest mock here).

Or that the guys like Ivey, Davis, etc, are a little more preoccupied with getting ready for the Draft than a half-assed dunk contest at the FF.

Hard pass as it is. Let me see it with some white around the numbers, letters, and logo, as well as some white included in the piping on the sleeves and collar, and I could be persuaded. But we already have the only orange jersey we need (retro Fighting Illini). Now we just need to put together a good blue jersey that also isn't cursed.

If Illinois lands Clark and Shannon, is next year's team better than this year's team? I'm having a hard time seeing how they would be better but curious what the opinion of other fans would be. I am assuming both Kofi and Hawkins return.

Certainly possible. Hard to tell what you actually have in freshmen until the ball is tipped off. Put enough new people in, and there is bound to be a learning curve.
I’d say higher ceiling, lower floor.

I'm intrigued by Rodger's ball handling and distribution skills. Will be interesting to see how they translate (with the big step up).

One thing is virtually for sure, his defensive ability, intensity and rebounding will translate. We're gonna love him.

I think that'd be hard to predict. With so many new players, and so many returning underclassmen, it's going to be dependant on things like how players gel with each other and the staff, and how players progress in the offseason. I think we just won't know until we see them play. Could see them end up better or worse.

It will be really interesting to see how the B10 fares next year, because a whole truckload of mainstays are leaving. As well as all the sophomore breakout superstars. I'll barely recognize the league. I mean who IS staying that's a top tier player, from any school? Kofi and Dickinson might stay, so they'll rule the roost if they do. But who else (not including portal transfers of course, of which there will be many)
