I almost hate to say it, but looking up his stats, Mark Smith had a pretty nice final year at KSU.

I think we’ve hit that hard enough for the last 5 years. Time to let the kid have his moment. I don’t know him, but I’d bet if he had the chance to change a few things he would. Wish Illini fans would just let him be. Not a good look for us imo.I almost hate to say it, but looking up his stats, Mark Smith had a pretty nice final year at KSU.
The best teams I’ve been on the bench for were 5-6 deep. Played a 3rd round playoff game last year with the top 5 only vs a 27-1 team coming in. Not a chance number 6 was seeing the floor let alone 7 or 8.You really see this at almost every level. I watch a lot of high school basketball both boys and girls and a vast majority of coaches really shorten their benches the bigger the games become. They just don't seem to trust their 7th, 8th, 9th etc when season is on the line. They are going to live and die with their top 5-6 kids.
I think kofi would make a pretty good tackleDavid Kaplan on his youtube show The Rush tonight dead seriously said he wants to get Kofi to play tight end or offensive tackle for the Bears instead of playing in the NBA. I don't even know what to say about that lmao.
It's not completely crazy. During the 2011 NBA lockout LeBron considered playing football and got a contract offer from the Cowboys.David Kaplan on his youtube show The Rush tonight dead seriously said he wants to get Kofi to play tight end or offensive tackle for the Bears instead of playing in the NBA. Given Kofi's size, weight, and footwork, this may not be crazy. It may be more lucrative than a non-nba career. I don't know how many years it would take to catch up though. Maybe he can join the Illinois football practice squad to explore the option.David Kaplan on his youtube show The Rush tonight dead seriously said he wants to get Kofi to play tight end or offensive tackle for the Bears instead of playing in the NBA. I bet he'd appreciate wearing a helmet.Given Kofi's size, weight, and footwork, this may not be crazy. It may be more lucrative than a non-nba career. I don't know how many years it would take to catch up though. Maybe he can join the Illinois football practice squad to explore the option.

His pad level would be an issue - at 7 foot he would get walked back into the QB and tough for the QB to throw over. I think he would be more of a 5-Tech DE, with his arm length he could just bench press the OL who wouldn't be able to even touch him and be disruptive to throw over, he'd probably have about 2-3 passes deflected a game! Plus he would be able to show off his footwork and spin moves in the pass rushGiven Kofi's size, weight, and footwork, this may not be crazy. It may be more lucrative than a non-nba career. I don't see it is negative, it's the obvious truth. And every other college basketball coach would have the same approach as BU.Kofi Cockburn hoping to reunite with Ayo Dosunmu
Kofi Coburn is hoping to stay in the state if Illinois ideally playing for the Chicago Bulls but is open to possibly playing one more at Illinois.fansided.com
Kofi suggests BU isn't developing him for the next level, but just trying to win college games. Isn't necessarily a negative comment toward this coaching staff, but could certainly be read that way.
Your about to go 0 for 2.I don't see it is negative, it's the obvious truth. And every other college basketball coach would have the same approach as BU.
It does sound like he's not coming back, which I've assumed all along. FWIW I'm also a bit skeptical of the insiders who say Coleman is returning. I won't believe either he or Kofi is returning until it's definitively confirmed.
How I hope you're right!Your about to go 0 for 2.
I do not see Kofi thinking that the staff or BU stymied his growth on the court. BU and the staff want to do everything possible to get players in the NBA. That’s great for the program and it produces wins. Kofi is better than he was as a FR. Kofi knows what he needed to improve on as he has talked to scouts when he put his name in the hat for the draft. I believe it is up to him to improve to the level of NBA talent. The coaches can lead you but it’s ultimately up to Kofi to get to the next level.Kofi Cockburn hoping to reunite with Ayo Dosunmu

Geography question. How is michigan state and west virginia in the west and Illinois in the east?
I agree with this statement 100%. I have mentioned here before that Jake was probably the best at getting the ball to Kofi in the right place at the right time. Is that at least in part because he is 6’6” instead of 6’2”?We got into a lot of our half court sets this year through Jake…..sorely missed
Well, of the 21 players listed, only 1 - Anosike from Cal State Fullerton, is from west of Illinois or Arkansas (2 other schools represented). They have a massive imbalance in putting an East/West game together...not that it really matters but perhaps they should just throw out those team names given the rosters?Geography question. How is michigan state and west virginia in the west and Illinois in the east?
Maybe the reference point is Mongolia?Geography question. How is michigan state and west virginia in the west and Illinois in the east?
I imagine the two throwbacks aren't going anywhere. I would also be surprised if they outright made one of the throwbacks the "primary" jersey. But my guess is that we get a refreshed base set.So are we getting new jerseys next season???
I would really like to keep the cursive Illinois and just make a navy blue version to match. Did we wear our blue jerseys even once this year?
