It’s just clueless individuals who have no idea what big time athletics are all about. Example…wanting to promote one of our assistants none of whom are ready to run a power 5 team.(and I love our assistants)

Damian Lillard was being interviewed and he said the most important thing to him for people to remember him by was his character.
Man, if this can be what Illinois basketball can become then that would be amazing. Humble student athletes that are hard working and loyal. I think kids for the most part want to be a part of a story like that, but outside influences and the likes of NIL make a huge impact and will change things for a while until things are figured out with the new norm. I’m all for players having more control and the ability to make money. Colleges make a ton off these kids.
But give me kids who are hungry, ready to work, and loyal to each other and the team. That is the recipe for success!
