I am curious what reffing changes. In the tournament games I watched, the refs seemed as bad as B1G games.

The biggest thing that stuck out for me was how much reaching in and arm grabbing was allowed on defense.
What's the old saying about giving an inch and taking a mile?šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

They could use the Purdue FDU game for future officiating training. I saw one shot of Edey with both arms being grabbed, another guy on his back. Just crazy!

Brother I love Illini bball. Watch 30+ games a year even in Texas. Biggest thing is the blowhard coaching style. Ain't gonna work in todays culture and it's going to be a big reason for kids leaving.

Watch this FAU guy coach. Positive, calm.. lol it can be done.

And I'm not saying the group this year was a high IQ group of leaders. But BU put them together and they looked good in November. Real good so why such a 180? Best recruit in years leaves..

Shout out to Pru for sharing with Loyalty this past week exactly how to use the ā€œignoreā€ option for certain posters.
I now am able to put that process into actual use.
And thanks to you DouggeyAlt, for emphatically convincing me where to first do so.
So long DouggeyAlt, it will be my pleasure to begin ignoring your posts.

Would you prefer John Groce?? He did good things here... šŸ™„
Did? Did?! Iā€™ve had my frustrations, but Iā€™m not ready to talk in the past tense just yet

Edit: Misunderstood this message šŸ˜‚ I had my guard up for Underwood. Missed the sarcasm

I think it makes sense to not want to create an expectation that players post that they're coming back. Fans start @ Luke Goode, @ Ty Rodgers, to make a post, then it's onto the next guy, etc. etc.

Some guys just need to take a second and breathe, talk to their family, etc. It doesn't mean that they are going to leave or anything, they just don't need to "re-commit" all over again each year.

Kind of like when the CEO sends an email to 20 executives that just had a meeting of importance. Thereā€™s always ā€œthat guyā€ that has to ā€˜reply allā€™ with ā€œthanks for a great meeting Bobā€.
Then the floodgates open with every knucklehead hitting ā€˜reply allā€™ and it gets silly.
PS: If youā€™re one of the ā€˜reply allā€™ peopleā€¦..donā€™t be. Kiss Bobā€™s butt in private please - as youā€™re wasting everyoneā€™s time.

i think the point (and you pointed it out) is how the refs lose their whistles during the tournament and B1G players aren't used to that. seems just about every half of B1G basketball i watch, both teams are in the double bonus yet most tournament games, they're barely in the bonus, if at all. i'm curious to see stats on average number of foul calls during every power 5 conference game vs the tournament.

TSJ appears to be a little bit of an introvert. I think he became a part of the team this year but you are right, he was not going to be seen as a leader from the outset. It can be different next year. Also, think you are right about Coleman. He was a role player last year, and did not bring any leadership from last year to this one. He had let everyone else lead. His interview after the last game showed some maturity, and showed a recognition of what he needs to do to lead. If he comes back, he will also have a lot more to bring from a leadership point of view. I am not that worried about leadership if we get both back for next year.
Not disagreeing with you so much, but I really don't see an Alpha on the team. TSJ, like you said appears to be a bit of an introvert. And Coleman, I think he is a more reflective player that sees problems after the game is over. He is usually correct about what he observes, but at that point it is a little too late. I just don't see a natural leader on the floor. Maybe on of the freshmen will emerge. I hope so. Epps is a very serious player and seems extremely focused. Maybe he will emerge as that guy. Hope sol

Frustrating year but Coleman pointed out the flaws three months ago after the Virginia game (link below -- see answer at 5:19). Wish those would have been fixed.

BOOM find Zuma...called out by CH in November.

"...Did our own things,... went to chaos down stretch,... lot to learn, definitely need to clean up late game execution.."

Now all the people that used to do that in emails are scheduling Teams calls to do it.
Shoot me.
Anyway, I agree and waiting to announce anything seems perfectly prudent for anybody on a P5 roster in this day and age. It's wild.
