No idea why Dain would think there's better opportunities for him out there. Maybe he just doesn't like being yelled at.
These are the headscratchers to me. Wouldn't 1 assume they have watched an Illini game before committing? People act like these kids never seen Underwood coach. If you commit to a coach you know you can't handle a chewing from thats on them. It is not a secret that Underwood is a tough coach. You talk about people beating the dead horse, my goodness!!!

He was on the sidelines and practice for half of last year’s season so you would think he’s very aware of BU’s coaching style. There could be more going on than we know too.

Can he transfer without a waiver though? He transferred from Baylor to Illinois, doesn't that use up his one freebie?
I am google challenged but I found an article on NCAA website yesterday that clearly stated you could only transfer through the portal one time. If you did it a second time you had to sit one full year at the new school. Who knows if the U of I could override it but that was the rule.

That’s the rule. But Omar Payne transferred back to back years without sitting. Jacksonville Dolphins basketball isn’t super well covered so I’m not sure what waiver he got. But clearly there are ways around it.

Not posititve but my understanding is he took the grad transfer route the second time since he had his degree, might be wrong though

I'd be surprised if he was a grad transfer, he was only here for a year and you generally need at least 60 of your credit hours. He probably had some sick 2nd cousin twice removed or whatever and was able to get a waiver that way.

Uhhh that seems pretty strange. 0440/Indy/Lville, any insights?

I'm guessing he hasn't/hadn't talked to Underwood before that tweet. Not saying he won't be welcomed back, but maybe he was asked to take it down for now. *shrug*

Just speculation on my part, but it's a possibility that some players are loyal to the assistants who recruited them and the players' decisions to stay or leave is dependent upon whether their coach stays. So they may be waiting on the ACs. Again, speculation on my part.

This is what it is now.

Anyone can leave. I don't care if its a recruit with an Illinois tattoo on his face who looked peachy all season with a guaranteed path to 30 minutes a game.

Some players get bad info.
Some don't want to be yelled at.
Some players think the grass is greener on the other side.

If its a mass exodus...fine...I guess its overtime for Brad and the staff to get talent. I would not get cozy to almost any player ever now.

Dain and Epps could very well be gone. Next couple weeks will be interesting. I expect everyone else back though
yea, so surprise about either
if Epps leaves, my guess is his next school is within 150 miles of home

"Guard-less basketball"
kind of like using the wildcat formation on EVERY play for football. I saw Walter Payton do that for the Bears back in the early 1980's when all 3 qb's went down late in the season - its didnt work out too well
