I officially have my first legitimate insider tidbit.
I'm really excited for our non-conference schedule for years to come if it pans out though.
Did I see that we are hosting a MTE? Is that the tidbit?

I agree. I've lost my frat house and fraternity. Six pack is gone. MS and Assembly Hall have been changed, no pinball machines and way fewer pool tables I'm the Union. Heck, they don't even offer my degree anymore! (General
Engineering). I took solace in watching BB and FB players mature and improve. I'll always follow, cheer and support my school, but some of the emotional intensity may subside.
But don't you love how Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering rolls off the tongue ?

It's in the general vicinity of something involving more than two teams but it's not necessarily an MTE, I don't believe. It's the potential teams and sites I've heard that have me excited. Big time. If that's public it's news to me.

Weā€™ll come on, manā€¦ drop some GIF hints. (The more obvious, the better) šŸ˜‰

From alpha test site for Bally and Gotlieb to no pins? So sad. It was nice to play innovative prototypes that often didn't make it to production. Thanks Steve (Lawson) for insisting the pinball stayed after the lower floor remodel, getting the prototypes, running the bowling lanes, coaching the university bowling team, and running some great bowling leagues (~mid 70s to early 2000s).

I like it. A place in the suburbs. The first time I went to Barrow in 1986 I couldn't believe that people lived in 8X8 plywood shacks - a bunk, a honey bucket, a hot plate, Toyo heater and a TV with one channel. After the federal government has spent billions with a B to make the lives of the 6,000 residents better, they mostly have what are more "normal" homes with running water and a sewer connection.
People in the lower 48 have no idea how some of their fellow Americans live, especially in the smaller villages in Alaska.

Yeah, most Outsiders think Alaska is located right next to Hawaii, just like on their little restaurant paper placemats šŸ¤£

I was on one of Steve's Big Ten champion bowling teams in the seventies!!

There was a nationally ranked pool player that taught a pool playing class too, I believe.

There was a pool player who travelled with the bowlers. He regaled us with stories of his hustling days and the knife fights he was in during his Florida hustles. Good times.

Another popular hang-out was the billiards room. During the 1970s, Steve Cusick, ā€™80 BUS, a wizard with the pool cue, was a familiar fixture there. Characterized by the Illio as ā€œa demigod in the Illini Union pool room,ā€ Cusick went undefeated for four years in the Illini Union billiards tourney and won the Big Ten championship in billiards

There was a ranked women teaching in the 80s. Nice person. Terrible teacher. She seemed to just accept we were terrible players and watched us flail, vs. helping us more with form. The class was a waste of time.

Another U or I student highly proficient at pool, a contemporary of Cusick's.
