Anything below 9 wins is a failure on BB's part. Most of this board expected 8 or 9 wins with Lovie before Covid. BB has the same players with everyone a year older, faster, stronger, and with more experience. If he is the coach that everyone says he is, 9 should be the expectation. Lovie's defense cannot be run at the college level and his insistence upon pounding the ball on the ground hurt him also.
I like a lot of your posts, but you clearly have a very anti-Bret agenda. Your recollection of 8-9 being the standard expectation is exaggerated. I did some digging and it looks like 5-7 was the consensus before we knew the season would be shortened:
Looking ahead to 2020 season

I was hoping to find a moggs3 poll for the 2020 predicted record but for some reason he dropped the ball...

Mom and dad are Nebraska fans and we’re meeting up for the game. I don’t know what the status of our relationship will be afterward if things don’t go the Huskers way

Please let them they will always be welcome here

Yes but remember we have like 115 guys on the roster right now. We will be able to absorb the big hit because we have to get back down to the scholarship limit anyway.
Was going to post basically the same thing. I believe we have 22 super seniors and if the OP’s 40 players lost next year, only 18 of those would be “replaceable as the 22 don’t count against scholarship limits right now.

I heard the pod cast and they said we could lose up to 40 players.
It's going to be very interesting to see how things work in future years when apparently the scholarship limit is going to drop back down to 85 even though every player with eligibility last season purportedly gets an extra freebie year. 4 years worth of scholarships for 5 years worth of eligible players, in other words.

That would point toward an absolute carnival of Creanings at every school in the country in each of the next four offseasons. But hard to project with great certainty, the rules may yet change again.

Regardless, we're definitely losing our super seniors after this season, and we've got the largest and most experienced group of those in the country, so there will be an impact.

We have a decent chance at literally ruining Nebraska's season and sending their fans off the edge ... in WEEK ZERO. Haha. :)
There is SO much pressure on them for that game. That's what gives me hope.

Well, yeah, because losing to the almighty Illini is something to be ashamed about.

Did anyone get their season tickets yet ? Got mine today and it was just a bunch of tickets in an envelope lol. Covid budget cuts this year to it haha?

The only thing I don’t like about it being week zero is that Nebraska doesn’t know if they suck yet.

Sometimes teams that aren’t that good play well early because the fresh new season is upon them. Playing a 1-3 Nebby would be easier than 0-0 Nebby because now the doubt has set in and Frost may start to lose the players,

It’s gonna suck if Nebby goes 3-9 this year, and we go 5-7 but one of our losses is to them in week zero.

I see it in basketball all the time (including us in the late Weber years and early Groce years). NW was a good example last year.

Let’s hope I’m worried for nothing and Nebby simply sucks!

Sawicky, got mine yesterday. There was an email sent out to season ticketholders a few weeks or months ago asking if you wanted physical or digital tickets. I am sure that the DIA is/was looking to cut costs by not making the ticket booklets but the spread of digital ticketing is likely a large factor as well.

I think most pre-season predictions had us last in the West last year, probably going 4-8. Talent was there to do better, but you have to take into account the Lovie factor. The over/under I saw for this year is 3.5 wins

Yeah this is a good point, this does happen a lot in CFB. I always say its a game where one team doesn't realize they're better yet.

We know the way the football public and presumably Vegas feels about us, fairly or not. Nebraska -7 tells me all is not well in Huskerville. If there were a real sense that the Frost regime was going to make it off the hot seat that line would be like 20, I think.

Have to go over on this. Fanduel is Over-130 at 3.5. Not a big payout, but may have to slide a few dollars on that one.

I'm so excited about this season for three main reasons:

1) Most importantly, even if we have another meh-to-bad year ... it's so much easier to watch when a coach is in Year 1 of a rebuild. It just is. If I even see flashes and have ANY reason for optimism after this season is over, I will be ecstatic.

2) I am so excited to just have a normal college football season again. Thinking about heading down for the Wisconsin game (sucks the Hyatt is always sold out ... that's my go-to for basketball ... how are there not more hotels Downtown with how cool the area has become?!?!).

3) We have a decent chance at literally ruining Nebraska's season and sending their fans off the edge ... in WEEK ZERO. Haha. :)
I believe there are two hotels being built downtown. Also Hilton bought the old Jumers in downtown Urbana which is actually as cool or a bit cooler than downtown CU if you enjoy live music. Very good Uber and Lyft presence in CU fyi if not already on your phone it would make CU postgame very easy navigating

Sounds like Beason is injured again. Anyone know what’s going on? He had star potential but just can’t get healthy.

Also was mentioned Luke Ford missed a practice for being late. I can’t imagine Bielema has much tolerance for that.
