Not as conflicted about Barker as I probably should be. I figure he couldn't have known we'd be hiring Lunney, and even then it's not exactly a guarantee.

Well you have to remember we don't play them every year. We played them in 2019 and 2016 winning both of those. Before that the last time we played them was in 2013 and MSU won. lol So yah.. We do play them next year so let's keep that streak going.

Utilize TE's yes, throw to them..No. If you look at the Lunney thread when he was hired, it's on page 1 huml32 posted UTSA stats from last season. TE's were targeted 43 times over 14 games. Barker went where he would be used way more.

We can spin stats in any teams favor. UTSA also utilized their WRs which saw less statistical output from the TE position.

Illinois top 3 WRs stats all combined

Williams, Washington and Navarro III 85 receptions for 986 yards with 4 TDs

UTSA top receiver alone

Zakhari Franklin 81 receptions for 1,027 yards with 12 TDs

UTSA 2nd and 3rd receivers both had over 750 yards receiving each and 13 TDs combined

All about utilizing your strengths....Illinois and UTSA are two different animals. We didn't have a plethora of WR depth last year and don't see that changing this year.

My impression. Some talent. Made a few catches. Not reliable (taunting penalties). Doesn't like to grind (ie. block). Buh-bye.

I just saw where my 2022 football season tickets were listed in my fighting Illini ticket account. $190 each for a season ticket in the lower rows of section 205.
