Bring it on. Hope he chooses UW. I wanna see this team grow and what RW and BB can do to stop a playoff hopeful team.
Read somewhere that Bobby Engram's son is a WI CB and high school teammate of Williams. Engram is interested in becoming the WI OC under Chryst, coming from the Ravens staff as a TE coach.

I'm wondering about the timing of so many Illini players entering the portal in recent days. It seems a bit late. Is it a Bielema/Lunney pruning of the ranks?
Math. Due to the extra year and scholarships allowed with covid the number of players on scholarship this year was allowed to exceed 85 and for us was somewhere north of 90. They have to get that number back to 85 next year. Not sure how many seniors and super seniors graduated but if that number is not larger than the number of new incoming recruits, then the roster needs to be pared another way.

I know it’s been discussed, by memory isn’t that long. The extra covid year is up to the school as I recall, so if someone has 4 years of scholly they don’t have to renew it. Whether they can walk on the extra year isn’t clear to me. Obviously most would look elsewhere in that scenario. It’s just another way to get down to the 85 so it doesn’t seem like it should be that difficult. I believe making use of the full 32 new spots is the primary driver. Kind of rambling I know, but hopefully it made some sense.

Anyone have any insight? Looks pretty "under-the-radar." 247 lists us as the only offer. HS stats and local recognition I've found looks legit, so kinda strange we had literally zero competition.

Nothing other than I watched his Hudl tape, kinda reminds me of Barker to be honest but was a two way player so guessing receiving TE/ILB.

He's 6'6" so a huge frame.

has been said multiple times but, the proof in the Bielema pudding will be seeing what becomes of signings like this 2-3yrs from now. especially with where the program has been, building momentum will have to come from developing players vs counting on highly ranked prospects (at this point)

i'm more optimistic than a long time to 'trust the process'

Speaking of 247, here is their article, which includes his hudl tape.

I think his length will give some advantage, you can see him reach higher than his defenders for passes.
Thanks for the link Epsilon.

My uninformed opinion…nice frame (as mentioned), actually shows reasonable speed with the ball (but definitely needs to run his routes harder/faster), and the ability to hand catch the ball is very evident. The catch he makes at the 1:15 mark of the video is really impressive. Now make a Big10 football player out of him.

OLB in the 3-4 defense … excellent size for a rush-linebacker.

Interesting prospect and another blue shirt. It will be fun to see what some of these kids become, but we will likely have to wait a while to find out.
