Can’t spell Slaughter without laughter!

Good to have him back. (I wasn’t aware he was one of our guys to watch for a decision)
you basically have to re-recruit your entire roster every January , in the end of season conferences with the coaches and player, and the ones you really want back need to be informed of that. I dont think we would lose him to the NFL, but he could have entered the portal if he didnt think he had a decent chance at lots of playing time

The Big 10 West is so darn competitive and balanced right now. Plus, portal movement will continue for a while longer. Still, wondering how the early prognostications will shake out for the 2023 season. I recall we were a consensus pre-season #6 a year ago in 2022, ahead of only NW.

Just speculating......

1. Minnesota
2. Wisconsin
3. Iowa
4. ILLINI
5. Purdue
6. Nebraska
7. Northwestern

My projected starting 5 on the O-line next year Johnson ( assuming he commits) Schuster, Adams, Chrysler and Jones (ECU transfer). I really think We will get the EMU transfer as it seems he is very interested in coming back close to home. I believe he was a 3-year starter at EMU. I don't think we got a Juco transfer in Schuster to stand on the sidelines. If i were to put a bet on things, i think that will be our starting 5 next year.

I would drop Purdue behind Nebraska. That cupboard is BARE. Otherwise, looks reasonable to me.

I see it as Iowa's to win or lose. They will have the defense and a respectable offense. Wisconsin has to many questions. Minnesota? Nah. I would put Illinois over Minny.

I agree. Iowa and Illinois at the top. Wisky possibly if they can transition well under Fickell. Minnesota list their top rusher (right?) but I don’t know much else.

With another portal session coming up post spring ball I think Wisconsin could be able to turn their roster around within the year. Which is just bananas but is what the new CFB is. Teams can get good really fast.
