Tragic. Thanks for sharing that.

I once was in business with someone suffering bipolar disorder. When it isn't or can't be managed, it's terrible and frightening for everyone involved. Very unfortunate. He was working his !!! off, creating his own luck. RIP Mr. Foster.

Not really a thread for this but I'll put this here:

I was vocal about not being a fan of Bielema during the search last year. He burned a lot of bridges at Wisconsin, wasn't successful at Arkansas, he never had success rebuilding a program in similar straits as Illinois football, etc. He has proven me wrong. Five wins in his first year is one heck of a start and well ahead of the curve established by his predecessors. Success isn't a given and he'll need to lead the program to consecutive bowl games before I will call this as a great hire but the early results are very promising.

So the question really is, why do we keep playing at PSU? What is the deal with this?
Good luck trying to make any sense of the football schedules. Back in 2018, the B1G released the football schedules through 2025 and we are scheduled to play Penn State every year from now til 2025. We seem to go years without playing some teams (we see Indiana twice between 2014 and 2025?).

Sounds like some revisions to these schedules may be forthcoming due to some of the oddities with the 2020 season.

The lengthy streak of playing @ Penn State is amplified by the Big Ten adding the extra game at the end of last year.

The lengthy streak between east opponents will continue. Illinois hasn't played Ohio State since 2017 and they won't play again until 2024. Each B1G team has something similar. Based on the article about future tweaks to the schedule, most of the in-season adjustments in 2020 were East v. East games. I don't envision Illinois will see an adjustment made on their schedule unless the Big Ten goes in and completely revamps the master schedule.

Since we're talking about scheduling, an interesting article appeared in my spying news app. Summary: PAC 12 commissioner thinks it insane how far ahead football games are scheduled. Wants the alliance, and conferences, to schedule games early in the year to get more favorable matchups, like the NFL. Big Ten move to 9 conference games is keeping the alliance from scheduling this way.

Virginia is going to be rebuilding next year, plus who knows how their TBA coach will fit with their current personnel. Gotta find a way to be 3-1 going into the Michigan State game.

Surely the next week will see the top portal players start to find their landing spots, right? Hoping we can land that o-line we need so badly.
