Early at Eugene but oh, boy. Boise State leading? C'mon. Get serious, Illinois. That's golf, I guess.
They stayed out west and flew up north on Thurs PM.And then we look up and see our Illini with the only red number, up by 6 strokes. Things have returned to normal.
Max at one point had two bogies and a double, but rallied with five birdies on his final eight holes to close the round and share the lead. Hopefully this is the turnaround point for him, definitely need him to get back to form for the spring!
I do wonder if the team flew went home after Puama Valley or went directly to Eugene. Seems like the latter would make more sense given the quick turnaround...
Hopefully this gets Max going as we need him going forward.
* morning. The boys have started out well this. Hope they can keep the momentum and run with it. Nice eagle by Dane.
I mean, with that performance last time Jake certainly seems like he earned thisLooks like Jake is getting the start this weekend in Bloomington, joining Max, Ryan, Trey and Dane. Freddie and Ethan will compete as individuals. Final tune-up before the B10 Championship, we will be the highest-ranked team but still a decent field with a few teams ranked in the 40s (Kansas, Purdue, NW).
Coach may not be there, as he will be in Florida competing at the Senior PGA Championship. Best of luck to coach AND the boys!
