Illini Golfers in the Pros

Hardy had a 4 foot putt coming up, to try to save par on the 18th hole. Unfortunately they are in a lengthy weather delay. It's got to stink when he has to stick around to play one last shot, when I am sure he would rather go to the airport and head to his next stop.
They actually showed him coming back out after the delay and sinking the putt. The announcers said they spied him trying 4 footers the entire delay .... smart

Hardy had it to -5 but hit his tee shot out of bounds on 18 and made double bogey to fall back to -3. Cost him a ton of places. Detry finished +2.

Detry started the day with 3 straight birdies, back in the mix!

Keep an eye on the "projected Fedex Cup" rank. Top 50 gets you into next week's BMW Championship AND a ton of high-purse events in 2024. Both are right on the edge.

Adrien sitting at -7 for the day thru 16 as play was suspended. Should be in good shape to play the weekend and keep his top 10 streak alive.

Detroit and Hardy both at -4, right at the cusp of top 50. Should be a fun weekend, hopefully they can both advance to Olympia Fields.

I was really hoping they were going to be paired together, that would have been fun to watch!

Unfortunately both Detry and Hardy just maintaned their positions today. Hopefully Sunday will be a different story. As in Go Low!

Hardy with a bad finish after a birdie-birdie-birdie start very costly. Making the Top 50 came with a lot of perks....most notably entry into the top $ events next year. Not sure what perks he gets from his victory with Davis Riley earlier this year.

He got a two year exemption. His ranking on the .money list is good. Probably will play most events next year. Still, hated to see that finish. Good guy and overall took a big step forward.

Hardy and Detry, while falling just short of the Top 50, will carry their points to the new "fall season" if they so choose. Spots 51-60 will still make the top events, so there is plenty to play for in the next few months. I'm curious to see whether Detry stays in the US or goes back to Europe/Asia to play DP World Tour events - either way he will have PGA Tour status, so it could be an interesting decision.

Congrats to ADdC on his PGA Tour card, we will have at least 3 Illini on the Tour next year (possibly more since Q-School will award Tour cards). And we will see Strick in a couple majors next year - despite dominating the Champions Tour, he has not even played a PGA Tour event in quite a while.

ADdC is playing his first ever DP World Tour (European Tour) event this weekend. He shot a -1 today and is about one shot below the current cut line.
Tommy Kuhl is playing on the Canadian Tour and is currently -4 (T8).

For the first time in his professional career, ADdC has missed a cut. Looks like he will play another DP World Tour event next weekend in Switzerland.

Kuhl is currently tied for 2nd in Manitoba at -10, two behind the leader! Feagles looks like he'll make the cut on the number in the KFT.

ADDC is playing on the DP World Tour this weekend in Switzerland. If the scoring is accurate, he just eagled the Par 4 10th hole (his first hole of the day) and jumped into the lead.
I've started rounds like that. Then by the 5th hole I wanted to dump my clubs into the nearest water hazard so I wouldn't be tempted to play again. Fortunately for him, ADDC is playing an entirely different game that I am. Hope he keeps the lead.
