Matthis played well for three rounds before falling off on Sunday. He finished T48 and picked up a 6,600 Euro paycheck. He will be in action this weekend on the island of Mauritius.

Dylan Meyer will tee it up tomorrow at the final stage of Q-school. Top five finishers get Tour cards, and there are a different levels of KFT exemptions as you finish lower. TV coverage on Saturday and Sunday, it would be awesome if he's in contention!

Also, Strick tees it up with his daughter Izzi this weekend at the PNC Championship in Orlando, their first time playing the event. NBC will be covering the weekend.

Good luck to all!

OK not the pros, but wearing the colors (in the video) for this fun event. I'll even forgive the hat.

Nick Hardy teeing it off in Kapalua with the winners from last year. ESPN+ even showed him for a brief second. What an amazing place to get to play the first weekend in January!
Nick is -1 with one hole to play. He is currently in 44th place in the 57 player field. Noticed he's lost 3.5 strokes to the field in putting. Ouch.

After a rough Saturday, Hardy fired a 66 on Sunday to finish T47. Not ideal, but still won $62K and got some Fedex Cup points.

This week:
PGA Tour - Sony Open (Honolulu): Nick Hardy, Adrien Dumont de Chassart
KFT - Bahamas Great Exuma Classic (Jan 14-17): Brian Campbell

Hopefully ADdC's debut goes as well as his last!

ADdC and Detry in the field at La Quintana this week.

Good luck to both, hopefully ADdC rebounds after a rough go last weekend.

Brian Campbell finished T44 in the Bahamas Exuma Classic (KFT). He will be in the field for the Great Abaco Classic, which starts Sunday and ends Wednesday.

Also, Strick will play in the Champions opener in Kona this weekend.

Stricker is a heavy favorite in almost every tournament he enters in the Champions Tour

Fun thing to keep in mind for the American Express tourney is they use 3 different courses and rotate between them. Cut is after the 3rd round and not all courses are equal (y)

For the first time in 33 years, an amateur has won a PGA Tour event. Nick Dunlap, reigning U.S. Amateur champ and sophomore at Alabama, carded a -29 to win by one stroke. As an amateur, he wins nothing, though I'd be shocked if he doesn't go pro immediately to start cashing in, hard to pass up an opportunity like this.

ADDC (-11) and Detry (-8) missed the Saturday cut at the AMEX - the scores were low across the board, as the cutline was -13!

Stricker hasn't missed a beat, finishing 3rd in Hualalei, Hawaii. Next Champions event is mid-February.

Brian Campbell finished T44 in the first of two KFT Bahamas events. He is currently T29 in the second event as round 2 is underway today (final round is Wednesday).

This weekend, ADDC, Detry and Hardy will all tee it up at the Farmers at Torrey Pines. Also Besard will be in the field at the DP World Tour event in UAE.

Solid start for all 3:

Note that this tourney is Wed-Sat, due to the NFL Conference Finals on Sunday. Torrey Pines is a "municipal course" of San Diego that is not that expensive for SD residents or military stationed in the area. I played both courses, north and south, and it was amazing! They grow out the roughs in the fall/winter to prepare for the pros, and it definitely makes it a beast for the weekend golfers like myself, but it's hard not to be in awe of the views. I look forward to watching the CBS coverage on Friday and Saturday, great memories.

Best to all three Illini! The leader is -8, so all three can be in contention with a solid round tomorrow.

Round 2 in the books:

Detry fell back to T3, but still in good position, as he will probably be in the final group tomorrow. Also ADDC snuck in at -3, so he will collect his first PGA Tour paycheck.

The final two rounds will be on the (much tougher) South Course, so it's going to be harder for Hardy and ADDC to make a run. Coverage on CBS tomorrow at 5ET (Golf Channel before that I think).

Going into the 2nd round I thought Hardy needed to match his first round to be a contender this weekend. That NC is so much easier than the SC. Not discouraged he shot -1 but hoping he doesn't fall flat the last 2 rounds.

‘I got punched in the face’: Farmers leader collapses on 18th-hole mishit

Very interesting read...
So honest and hopefully a character builder. Will be good to see him in Pebble Beach this week, no cut event so he will get exposure and dough. Building up a nice resume and what a whirlwind

Solid read, thanks for posting! I was watching on Friday, definitely a shot he would have nailed 9 out of 10 times. The game can be unforgiving...

Detry shot a 74 on Saturday to finish T20. Hardy ended up T37. ADDC struggled on Friday, leading to a 75th place finish. But he did make is first cut, so plenty to build on there. Hopefully he makes the field for Phoenix in 2 weeks - with all of these Signature events, he will need to take advantage of any start he can get.

Matthis Besard had his best finish on the DP World Tour, finishing T13. Congrats to Matthis, and hopefully this is the start of something special!

This week:
PGA Pebble Beach Pro-Am: Hardy, Detry
KFT Panama Championship: Campbell, Kuhl (first KFT start, open qualifier)
DPWT Bahrain Championship: Besard

Were any of these folks at the alumni match in Florida last week?

I think Golf Channel coverage showed all of 3 shots from Detry. Their coverage SUCKS.

While I agree they favor the big names (e.g. lots of sustained coverage on Schaffele's triple-bogey on 18), a big factor is that Detry played on Spyglass yesterday. Since it's only played Thurs/Fri, they set up minimal infrastructure on the course and rely on hand-held TV cameras. Pebble Beach has a ton more set up - TV camera towers on every hole, more cameras overall, etc. - since they will be used for the bigger-money coverage on CBS over the weekend.

Should see much more Detry today on PB, especially if he stays on top, though with big name golfers (and QBs) on the course it probably won't be as much coverage as he got in Torrey last week.
