Detry being showed a lot today. If you want to watch him play watch today. Helps to be paired with Scottie and aberg
I'd dare say he's showing them a thing or two also. He's hanging right in there.Detry being showed a lot today. If you want to watch him play watch today. Helps to be paired with Scottie and aberg
“The definition of smooth”, per one of the announcers.Detry has such a beautiful swing.
Detry buys this thread lunch and Hardy can take care of the tip. They have canceled the final round. So Detry ended up tied for 4th winning $877,500.
Hardy tied for 47th winning $49k.
Not a knock on Detry, but with that last round not playing out it probably helped him for the big payout but also for the points like you mentioned. Ton of big name guys like Jason Day, Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Sam Burns, etc that were right behind Detry going into the final round. JMO but I think Detry would have fallen down the board.I was able to catch most of the round Saturday. Detry played solid overall, kept himself out of trouble. Played a better round than the #1 player, that's gotta be a confidence boost. I'll admit I was more impressed with Ludvig Aberg, I think he would've won if they played a fourth round. He will be a top 5 player very soon.
Fourth place will give Detry a boost going forward. He is now 65th in World Rankings - if he can crack the top 50 by the end of March he will qualify for the Masters. He is now 18th in the Fedex cup standings which could set him up for future Signature Events. Oddly enough, he is not currently qualified for the next Signature Event (Genesis Invitational), and would have to either play well in Phoenix or gain a sponsor exemption to make the field - I think the latter is a real possibility. Hardy already qualified for Genesis via the Fedex Fall "Next 10"
Course is 6,254 yds at 8600 ft above sea level. Many drivable holes.Cristobal Del Solar shot a 57 in the opening round in Colombia (Korn Ferry Tour). This is the lowest score on any second-tier tour in history. And what's crazy is he could've done better - he shot a par on each of his last three holes!

Overshadowed is Brian Campbell's opening-round 61, which puts him in 2nd. Hopefully Brian can keep it rolling through the weekend!
He's now -7 on the back with the 18th still to play. A tale of two nines, for sure!Detry fell to +4 with a 39 on the front nine. Then he birdied 5 of 6 on the back nine to get to -1 after 15!
