Ayo did this consistently during his time with the Illini.
I'm not saying he didn't have a pull-up in his bag - we all saw him ice games. Just that it's improved significantly compared to even 2 months ago and the changes seem to be modeled on DeRozan's ridiculous jumper game.

Love the success. I glanced at box score going into 4th quarter and he was 7-7 at that point with 3 rbs and 3 ast. Very efficient.

Not sure what happened last 5 minutes of game because it was a blowout.

Ayo success combined with Coby White's inability to shoot, Lonzo Ball injury has made Ayo very valuable to the Bulls. I suspect they will tear up his contract and sign him to extension in off season before he really blows up. Otherwise there is going to be a very expensive bidding war when his 2 year rookie deal expires.

Lonzo Ball signed 4 year $85M contract past off season. He is averaging 13 ppg 5 rbp 5 apg this season.

Ayo has been starter for past 7 games (played more than 30 minutes). He is averaging 13 ppg (16 ppg if you throw out first game where he was scoreless) .
5 rbg and 5 apg. So he is duplicating Lonzo production at 1/20th the cost.

Bulls need to free up cap space to resign Zach Levine. Coby White and Tony Brown each make $7m/year. I am sure they will look to trade at least one of Coby, Tony or Lonzo.

Interesting salary data. If Kofi and Andre can make 500K to 1,000K thru NIL, is that a strong incentive to stay in college longer? Ayo 925K and Malcolm 272K.

There is 0% chance the Bulls are gonna trade Lonzo.

Ayo is way more athletic and bigger than Andre. Totally different players
Way more athletic? Meh. More athletic, yes. Andre was more athletic than his pudgy build would have led you to believe. Ayo is 6’5” 200 compared to Andre being 6’3” 200.

His first 16 years in the league he averaged 14 pts, 7 Asts (3:1 A/TO ratio) and 4 Rebs. One knock is that his 3 pt shooting was bad. But he was very good on 2’s and a very good free throw shooter.

I don’t think they are totally different players.

My only memories of Andre Miller are being on the opposite end of D Rose highlights.
