Kinda wish that Malcolm had stayed with the St. Louis Hawks and gotten to play in front of his home area folks. But this will do.

If he doesn’t stick with the Bulls, maybe he can stick with the new ABA team, the Spirits of St. Louis. Their television broadcasts are great. That young kid, Bob Costas, that they have announcing for them has a real future in the industry, I think.

Hopefully it will be a string of 10 day contracts while the Bulls get healthy. After that I hope he at least gets a G League invite.

Malcolm would have enjoyed playing with Marvin Barnes. Often the colorful personality, Barnes once refused to board a plane from Louisville to St. Louis. Because the flight was scheduled to arrive (Central Time) before its departure time (Eastern Time), Barnes famously said, "I ain't getting in no damn time machine." He rented a car instead.

Wasn't Lenny Wilkens on that team ?.....I think he was and wanted a new contract and the owner traded him somewhere straight up for Lou Hudson....

Pettit and McCauley. I wouldn't know much beyond that.

Dunno, but Dike Eddleman was the star of the Tri-Cities Blackhawks. Red Auerbach was their coach for a year.

I can see Malcolm sticking in the League as an end-of-bench role player. Certainly far more feasible now than when he graduated, what with the direction the NBA has gone. He can occupy the same 3/4 role that he did at Illinois, somewhat like Jae Crowder -- measurables are pretty similar and while he gives up a few pounds, he's also a better shot. Just needs to harness the same type of nasty/intensity Crowder and those types play with in order to survive against the game's best forwards.
