Looks like the Beckman effect appeared for 7 years of generally downward trending.

I know so little about this. If a team were to pick a guy up on waivers, do they have to put him on the 53 man squad? Seems like if not there would be more movement.
Yes, which is why you don't see it happen that often.
They've come a long way. They should keep moving up as well here soon, possibly in a big way.

We’re ranked in the 60s/70s each year in the 247 talent composite rankings, yet we’re tied at #22 for the most guys in the NFL.
Either the recruiting rankings are off or we’re one of the better development programs in the country.
#2 is definitely true. #1 is subjective. After the first top 50-100 or so guys who are more than likely impact guys (More times than not instant) its really a crapshoot.
For example this '26 class was rated top 25 which is pretty good, but it will wind up better due to a number of these guys being more underrated than they should be and the fact that this is one of the elite development staffs in the country.

It appears that Hank Beatty has been waived from the Titans' practice squad in the latest round of additions/subtractions. Here's hoping another team adds him to their practice squad. A team that can use a punt/kick returner might see him as a good addition. The Titans do not have that need, which makes his signing with them a bit of a head-scratcher. They gave him one of the biggest guarantees (more than $250k) among UFAs. He was an Illini that epitomizes the type of players Bielema has brought to Illinois.

degenerative knee cartilage sounds bad. not an orthopedic guy, and I'm sure there are myriad varieties (with myriad severities), but no bueno. really glad this came after he signed his contract
