Team Deron is our very own. He’s coaching one of the Rising Stars teams at the All Star game this year. Love it.

Seeing a Giorgi update inspired me to check in on another of our favorite centers. Kofi averaging a solid double-double, 20 points and 13 rebounds (with rounding). Given it's with a Japanese B league team, but could be a stepping stone to a higher level team.

They are also 5-31 on the season.

Yes, but he leads the league in rebounding and is 4th in points last I looked. He didn’t play the last 2 games, not sure why.

Playing on such a poor team it’s hard to know how he’s doing. The team often only scores in the 60’s so there’s not much help there.

Zenit is huge. They play in Russia, one of the best domestic leagues, but more important they also play in EuroLeague. This move is a big deal, and Trent appears to be on a quick ascendance in Euro basketball. Very excited for him. But man, I can't help but also be a little worried about any American working in Russia these days.
Zenit and all other Russian teams were suspended from the EuroLeague in 2022 because of the war in Ukraine. Have they been reinstated?

Russian basketball teams are banned from the EuroLeague

Looks like only one Russian starts for his team. Reminds me of seeing a professional game in Ireland years ago. Only one American was allowed on each team but the game turned in to the 2 Americans essentially playing one-on-one while 8 helpless Irishmen stood around and watched. LOL

Ayo's three point is going to have to get better. Even amongst the Bulls, he's the worst three point shooting player in their rotation (he and DeRozan are virtually identical in % this year, and DeRozan is the last of the mid range specialists). His first season was a lot better, so he is still at 35.5 % for his career cumulatively, which isn't awful. That being said, League wide three point % in 2022-23 is 36.0 %, and Ayo as a Guard that isn't a big playmaker (4.7 assists per 100 possessions and 2.1 free throw attempts per 100 possessions) is going to need to be significantly above that.

Not worried about his work ethic, he will definitely be putting in the time to improve, but that's gotta be the number 1 area of focus for him this offseason. His defense is already very good.
