Really rough match @ Purdon't last night. 25-11, 25-19, 25-16 loss. Bumped us back down to #99 in the Nova ratings.
Ouch. And we fans are probably stuck watching this atrocity of a program for the next 3 seasons after this one, too. *nutpunch* *nutpunch* *nutpunch*

For those in the know, what's happened to Illinois volleyball? Hard to believe it's fallen so far so fast. Is it coaching, recruiting, injuries, facilities... combination of everything?

Are there investments being made into the program to help turn things around?

Recruiting seems to be the biggest thing. We’re not drawing top recruits anymore, while during the Hambly era we brought them in consistently. Idk if it’s because Tamas simply can’t recruit at that level, or if we’re a hard sell since our facilities are so outdated now compared to the top Big Ten programs.

The Women Illini played great tonight and Raina Terry slamming it down from behind the10 foot line is amazing.....
Best I have seen them play this year....

I watched a thrilling upset win by the spartan rocket mort-gaggers over psu earlier tonight....Mrusik for psu is a dominant player for sure.....
Glad I did the annual pass of B$G and looking forward to the exhibition tomorrow afternoon against Bail Self and the Dickinson whiny huntie baby....may the winning streak Continue over the douc*e laloushe baby....coo-che coo baby huntie

Best I can recall us playing since the Kentucky upset in the tourney a few years back. Have to give some kudos to the coaching. Huge improvement over earlier match up. We knew where they were serving. Great first balls off their serves. We were down 4 in the 2nd when Tamas called a TO. Rattled off 6 straight I believe and never looked back. Nothing looked too special about Caroline Barnes’s serves, but boy did we score with her at the line. Fun to win!

Agreed that it was a great win. We've moved up from around 100th to (currently) 78th in my Nova ratings as the season has gone along - and that's with no de-weighting of older matches, so our early season losses are counting just as much as Saturday's win. If I put a KenPom style weighting scheme in I'd guess we're more like... 60th? Not in the upper tier (Minny/IU/Purdue/OSU) but on part with Northwestern/MSU/Maryland.

While I'm anxiously waiting for the Women's Volleyball game tonight against bucky badger , I watched last night a great match between PSU - Nebby............# 16 vs. # 1 .........PSU got out to a 2 set lead over # 1 Nebby but the worm turned and Nebby rallied to win the last 3 sets and the match..........

Numerous stars on both teams and rousing play kept me and all in the crowd on the edge of our seats throughout the hard hitting match..........wow is an understatement of the abilities shown in this match.......Merritt Beason , for Nebby is a kill machine , just as Jess Mrusik is for PSU.............

Let's hope the Illini can pull off the big upset tonight and keep our winning streak going..........GO ILLINI !!!!!!!

So did we win? Nothing on the home page either...

No, got crushed 3-0. The Badgers were very rude hosts.
Rude because they gave the Illini a beat down or something else??

I can't stand watching Wisconsin - coach, players, and fans. IMO they are obnoxious and entitled. Sheffield s success has gone to his head.

Separate from game with Illini, also don't agree with certain players being allowed to play for Wisconsin. I acknowledge there are 2 sides, but I don't think it is an even playing field. Just my opinion...

Couldn’t agree more!

Lol, just what I said - it's an unfair advantage. There's no disputing that.
