Bourrage has been here before but I'd expect her to go with Iowa if they have a scholarship available. Her high school teammate, Journey Houston, has already committed to them and Bourrage plays for the same AAU team as Caitlyn Clark did. Bluder has strong support in Davenport from her time coaching at St. Ambrose and, frankly, Iowa has a much better presence in the Quad Cities than Illinois does. One thing in our favor is Bluder's age. I doubt that she will be there through Bourrage's entire tenure.
My biggest complaint living within 45 minutes of QC is Iowa apparel is everywhere and Illini gear is sparse. Hell go to Peoria and it can be tough to find Illini apparel. Who ever is in charge of marketing needs a swift kick in the rear.

Know the results aren't the same as last season but looked up a few random stats. Sky is not falling

2022-23 team

Total of 3 quad 1 or 2 wins

20 of 32 games played were quad 3 or 4. Record in those games 19-1

Non-conference strength of schedule 313 out of 361 teams

7 of 10 losses by double digits

2023-2024 team

Total of 2 quad 1 or 2 wins

12 games played against quad 3 or 4. Record in those games 10-2

Non-conference strength of schedule 196 out of 360 teams

9 of 12 losses this season so far by single digits, 1-6 in two possession or less games

The 2023-2024 team has 4 regular season games left. All 4 of them are quad 1 or 2 games. Only chance of playing another quad 3 or 4 game would be if playing lower level team at neutral site in the conference tournament.

Non-conference strength of schedule fluctuates based on results of the teams we played. Likely will finish in 175-200 area.

No cupcakes left on the schedule but I am proud of the ladies. Results might not be the same as last season but the ladies haven't regressed that much just the level of competition has gotten stronger.

9 of 12 losses? Did we lose 6 additional games without me knowing?

Haven't heard anything official as of yet, but I'm gonna be curious to see if the game tomorrow gets pushed to FS1 or BTN. Today's Daytona 500 has been postponed to 3:00 PM CT on Monday which would put it right up against the end of the game against IU. With how much FOX has invested in NASCAR coverage, I could see them pushing the game just so that there's no overlap or delay, especially with how big of a deal the Daytona 500 is.

Not for nothing, but isn't today a federal holiday that quite a few people have off work anyway?
Yes, today is indeed a federal holiday (President's Day), so if you work in a government job, you likely have the day off. But if you don't work at a bank, post office, school, etc ... more than likely you are working. I had to take the afternoon off to attend today's game.

Might be too late for postseason opportunities, but this version of the team is very NCAA tourney viable. May not make it, but they are playing like a team that could make noise in the tourney. Really good sign that Coach Green could keep this team together and turn the season around.

Little guards are forcing shots. Need to get the whole team involved.

Holmes has gotten 8-10 points in the second half just out running the Illini and Hobby. We're not doing ourselves favors by cross-matching when it isn't needed too. Just need to get back and not panic on D.
