Well done ladies!!!!!!
32 teams. 16 seeds. We were the only one with a losing record. We took home the trophy. A beautiful thing.I’ve got walk this back a bit, looks like there were 16 seeded teams but 32 overall? Someone who knows better can correct me.
Anyway, we won. That I’m sure of!
Three 1 seeds and a 4 seed in the final four. Other three teams thisclose to the NCAA tournament and we beat two of them to win it all. What a story.Folks, this is a big damn deal. When anyone goes to look up the history of this tournament years later they will see Illinois won the inaugural in 2024.
Especially since the NCAA owns rights to the WBIT and is trying to make it like the NITFolks, this is a big damn deal. When anyone goes to look up the history of this tournament years later they will see Illinois won the inaugural in 2024.
Yeah...think there were 32 and Illini were a 4 seed.... So middle of the pack at the start.I’ve got walk this back a bit, looks like there were 16 seeded teams but 32 overall? Someone who knows better can correct me.
Anyway, we won. That I’m sure of!
The loss of Jada Peebles due to injury, who was an important cog in the previous season's success complicated the start too. Tougher non-con and con schedules and B1G coaches now had a year's experience dealing with Coach Green.Cook was injured in earlier in season and took awhile to get healthy and team re-adjusted.
Congrats to the ladies and I couldn’t be more proud of the way they turned this season around. Special props to KB. She’s not the most talented on the team, but she’s my favorite player. I wish the season wasn’t over, we are playing so well lately!!
What's wild is we could potentially bring back all the starters but Hobby (after bringing back all of them the year before too). I expect a few transfers out to make room for some inbound players, and look forward to see what the team can do next year!Bring back the majority of these ladies
