Illini 11-7 (21-8)
Mich 11-7 (21-8)
Despite the importance of NET and SOS, I refuse to believe that one of these teams will be given a 4-seed in the NCAA tourney and the other will be given a 10-seed. (I guess I didn't realize that Joe Lunardi's bias reached all the way into Women's Bracketology.)
The bracketology stuff is like Mock Drafts and gets switched up every few days. Those seeds were updated before both teams played their last game. Michigan beat up on Rutgers day before update and than lost to Wisconsin afterwards(worst BT loss for them). Illinois lost at home to Nebraska by 33 and had not played the Rutgers game at time.
I think part of it has to do with strength of teams at the top. Outside of the top 1-3 seeds overall it is a Crapshoot after that.
It is almost like the Big Ten has different tiers for tourney/bubble teams
Indiana, Maryland, Iowa
Ohio State, Michigan
Illinois
Purdue
Nebraska
Michigan lost to the top tier teams just like us but beat up on the mid tier teams. Illinois lost to Michigan, Purdue, Nebraska split. Illinois has the Iowa win, Michigan had more impressive non-conference wins. Michigan beat Nebraska twice, beat Illinois by 17 and Purdue by 21. Michigan is one of those teams that could stay around 4-5 slot or get bumped down few more slots. Play winner of Penn St/Minnesota. If they win that and than beat Ohio State, likely would stay 4ish area. New update likely out today or tomorrow and keeps changing(be shocked if Illinois isn't 8 or 9, likely 9). Purdue was on 10 line last time and just lost to Minnesota and have Wisconsin left. Purdue is likely in but if they lose to Wisconsin things could get more sketchy and likely one of last 4 teams in.
