Kendall Bostic not only is a great rebounder, scorer, she represents the school well, but after her interview tonight did all the right things. She went into the stands to talk to and hug her mom and dad. Talked to fans, signed a few things and then talked to the little girls who are young Illini fan and Bostic fans. She is just the kind of person you want your daughter, teammate, friend to be. We are very blessed to have watched her be part of the teams that turned Women's Basketball around for our school.
You said it very well, and I'll repeat what I said earlier in this thread.

Kendall Bostic represents everything that is right about collegiate athletics. I don't have any daughters, but I have several young nieces. They could do so much worse than having Kendall as a role model to look up to, and not just because she's a very good basketball player.

I have been agitating for weeks for Shauna to play Berry Wallace and Haven Smith more.

Finally got a chance to see them get extended playing time against Purdue and understand Shauna's reasons.

Berry has nice 3 point shot and drove the lane a couple times and hit short jumpers. While she is tall 6'3" she is not that athletic. Slow to rebounds, below average on defense and does not try to block shots. Still adjusting to speed of college game. Hopefully she will improve significantly next year with more experience and practice.

Haven is tall 6'6" but has same short comings as Berry. She is not that athletic. Slow to rebounds, below average on defense and does not try to block shots. I suspect she is more long term project than Berry. Purdue had 2 freshman centers who were able to score and rebound better.

Agree. Both are slow footed.

Haven was good at getting in defensive position and using her length on the player she was guarding but she’d lose that position on the shot and give up the offensive rebound.

Can we teach agility and jumping. Has Fletcher been able to do it for the mens basketball team?

There is a game tonight, yes? No hype for the women?
Let's go! Beat Rutgers!

Yes - another double header - WBB followed by MBB!

Mcmiller on Rutgers has some range. Gets across half court shoots it and has made two like that. Rutgers up 12:00 to 9. :00 halfway through the first quarter

VERY physical game and they are pressing full court, not a good combination for us. We don't have the bench for players with fouls and the press of course bothers us at times

We have three players with 2 fouls, they have three players with 2 and one with 3 fouls. We have played smart of pick up the calls.
