Legacy. Changed the tide. Another notch in accomplishments over the last 3 years.
Every player had a great moment today- needed all of them. Great memories and experience.
Adalia was so good. Really took a huge burden on offense when a play or amscore was needed.
Loved the defensive strategy. Switch in everything .could’ve used Allen. Smith would not have been good on that style defense. Probably will need her for Texas.
The one Creighton player, Molly?, the lefty had such a beautiful shot. Thought it was going in every time.

Congratulations, Illini! Hard work and determination pay off. I am so happy for Coach Green and these ladies. It’s been a long, long time coming. I think I can speak for Illini Nation when I say I am really grateful to Josh for finding and persevering in getting Shauna to come to Illinois. Go give Texas a game!

If the women's basketball keeps this up(and big upset of the Longhorns would help.),this will be revenue spot.Im sure they just need half the stadium sold of season tickets and maybe a walk up of 1500 or so..I'm sure they're turning a profit in Iowa, Indiana, Ohio State , maybe Maryland.Illinois is the home of March, Madness,so I don't see nothing but UPSIDE here..
I've seen we are ranked 25th in attendance with an average attendance of 4857 fans.Im surely hoping next year's avg increases by 2000 to welcome that top ten recruiting class.. With Coach Green having the program with All of her players,some well seasoned,next year's team could be just as good or better..
Having Coach Calamity makes me feel we got a real shot at an upset because these women seem to know how to follow the scout stuff..It's so good to have seniors who care....And have won a post season title..
Adalia was also a defensive gem in this game too.
Texas favored by 17.5. Considering how tough we played USC and UCLA (both 1 seeds) on the road, that seems a little disrespectful. Hopefully it provides a little extra motivation fuel!
No doubt 17.5 is somewhat disrespectful but this is a home game for Texas. I would take ILL and the points as I expect them to give them a game. Although the women's game has come a long way the fact that the top 4 teams in each bracket have a home game shows how far they have to go.

Coach Green is above and beyond my favorite coach of the big three Illini programs right now .....I really really hope she retires from the Illini program after an historic run as one of the greatest coaches in WBB history nationwide......
She has so many skills as a leader of young women and it was apparent from day 1 how much the players love her as their coach , confidante and someone they can talk about anything in their life trials and travails.......
Coach said it all in her presser when she said she wants to win every game , and after all the past failures as we have had in the past , her fpery makeup as a person was just what the doctor ordered for us to FINALLY have success as a program.........Grentz brought the Illini up from the doldrums when she was here but I firmly believe Coach Green can surpass what Grentz did and go even higher up the ladder and establish the Illini as a top 10 program every year,,,,,,
when I think about our recruiting class coming in along with the returning players and the injured returning players I can't wait to see what results we will see next year and future years.....
But hey , how about we shock the world and pull off the big upset so far in THIS years tourney.......I believe in this group to at least give an all out honest effort to accomplish yhat feat.........I REALLY REALLY REALLY DO................GO ILLINI !!!

We're playing with house money. Despite massive adversity, we've made it farther than we have in 25 years. I really hope we play lose and enjoy the moment. Win or lose, this season has been pretty darn incredible and this senior class's contributions to this program will never be forgotten. It's been a privilege following them on this journey. This team and coach are what college athletics is all about.
