She did start the game but from what I saw it didn't look like they had a game plan and they were just floating to open spots, with her staying at the top of the 3 pt. Line.

Huh. Well, I'll still root for her to be great. Just, maybe not you-know-when. She makes Wiscy better. Probably not better enough to be mad at all.

She must have had sky-high hopes entering college and at least she's got her degree, because it's surely been frustrating with each year being arguably more disappointing than the last. Now she's got one last chance for big playing time and balancing that with a useful degree. The Midwest got its hooks in her, I guess!

Looks like Shauna has end of season meetings with her players was well. She must have been very honest with Shay that she would not see the court in 2025-6 with talent on next years team.

Wisconsin was 13-17, finishing 14th out of 18 B10 (4-14 conf record). They are hoping for miraculous recovery from Shay.

I hope it happens. Injuries destroyed her HS Sr year and 3 years of college. If she can get healthy and at least be a role player in college it would be everything.

Good luck Shay.

I was hoping Shay would be Bollin for us but I'm glad she landed at a respectable place and not Iowa or Indiana..She might've gotten more playing time and a heckuva degree at northwestern

I know we still need a a confident scorer on the low post, but I'm sure in that Fab Five we got plus the bigs they can make up for Kendall

Even though she is a freshman in highschool The Khloe kid just looks and sounds like a Shauna Green type of player so far on the clips I have researched but downstate seems to belong to other teams vs ILL-INI.. That needs to change.

Hopefully, Gretchen will be a redshirt soph.

I'm sure Genesis probably loves her decision to come to ILL-INI,and of course for basketball, but man the young lady has blossomed into so much more..You remember to tell the other transfers her experience and I'm certain it would help.

So psyched about all the player additions.

Loved the seniors/grad students but they got 100% out of their talent/size. Just a mid ceiling roster.

The new rosters has much more size, still have 2 very quick PG, and better shooting. Missing piece is a banger to replace Kendall.

Still hoping for the transfer portal or Haven to make a gigantic sophomore leap. She has the size but needs to add strength and agility plus learn to get inside position like Kendall so she can grab the defensive rebound. Hopefully somebody is coaching her one on one this summer to learn this.

9. Illinois Fighting Illini

No. 29 PG Destiny Jackson
No. 40 F Cearah Parchment
No. 48 F Manuella Alves-Fernandez
No. 96 F Naomi Benson
Unranked G Erica Finney (Australia)

Coach Shauna Green likes to play a space and pace style; three of these commits fit the mold on the perimeter while the other two, a formidable F/P pair, will help in the paint. This class also fills an important need at point guard and adds depth inside.

Jackson really pushes the ball well. She brings heavy ball pressure defensively and is creative off the bounce to the rim.

Parchment is a finesse stretch-4 forward who brings a nice glue quality. She made a strong commitment to the glass this summer and raised her stock. She has decided to go to campus early to get ahead on the college routine.

Alves-Fernandez is broad and strong with a soft touch. She has a nice old-school game and is effective with her back to the basket because of her footwork and ability to finish in the paint. She is physical defensively and active on the glass. She is showing major promise with spring exhibition games against WNBA teams as part of the Brazilian National Team.

Benson is a rugged blue collar forward who cleans up the glass and does the dirty work in the paint. She is a strong athlete who understands her role -- playing physical defense and getting timely interior buckets.

A 6-foot Australian guard, Finney is an elite shooter both off the dribble and in catch-and-shoot situations. She has nice footwork and change of pace to the rim and is a gritty competitor.
