WNBA draft on Monday. I have to think that with three rounds Kendall Bostic has to be considered for a pick in that third round. Staying and playing the extra year made her shooting, scoring a plus. We all know her rebounding was the best in the Big Ten the past three years. Hher ability to defend against bigger players and play physical against anyone her height is going to go over well in the pro game where she will not get called for so many touch fouls. A true team player that can come off the bench and give you minutes at several positions as she played against the best the past 4 years.

My opinion she gets selected mid to late 3rd round.
She is not a WNBA player let's be honest here

We have size and muscle with Hayven, Lety, and Manuela. But are they ready to contribute? A litttle insurance would be nice.
There's one roster slot still open. No seniors next year. If we do choose to fill the open slot this year it almost has to be with an upcoming senior because if we should take another underclasswoman, we could face the next recruiting class with no slots available. There are prospects in that class that we've been grooming for a couple years so we need to have room to bring at least one of those girls in. The alternative is to 'run someone off after this season' and that's hard to do.

We’re allowed 15. We have 2 open. Zenere is a walk-on.

Rules have changed for next year. Roster total cannot exceed 15 regardless of scholarship status. Even if she is a walk-on she counts towards the 15.
Thanks, I learned something today.

Agree, too much uncertainty with that group. Hayven did not look like more than a spot minutes player, hopefully she gets a big year 2 leap.
This spot minutes thing has happened every year so far under Coach Green. This year it's definitely going to be different .Coach has a standard with some sculptured players but a big new crop to be programmed.

NL worthy.............she really really is..........welcome Maddie.........................

Coach Green is such a superb recruiter and adding Guyton and Webber this weekend is more than impressive .....It's ELITE level recruiting......
I'm in agreement with getting good players but me t year we only have one or two 3 year players with only one being her for those three..I would love to see a couple of seniors

15 won't play. At best 10 or 11 if we are good but from our last three years we will be lucky to see 8 players, so I don't see us getting anymore players unless it's a high percentage 3 pt shooter over 6 ft 2 senior wing

I'm so impressed with the roster right now, I'm just hoping for a season injury free so this young team can develope together. We are due for one. Side note any news of Makira's elegability or intentions? I thought she might get another year back but not in portal yet.

KB and Genesis were 5th year covid graduate students.

Get Old and stay Old is true in WBB as well

Hayven was freshman. Lety is redshirt sophomorev who played very little at Baylor.
I know. I just mean if they really can’t contribute much for the upcoming season then they not be much more than role players for their remaining time at Illinois .
I do hope I am wrong on Hayven.. I always root for players that choose Illinois straight out of high school.

Frank Kaminsky averaged 1.8 ppg as a freshman and 4.2 ppg as a sophomore. He was National player of the year as a senior. Some players do get better as they get older. I’m sure Hayven and Lety were both recruited because of their potential.

I know that some of the graduating players have hired agents in order to pursue professional playing opportunities. Don't know if that includes Makira. I suspect that she's done.

in MBB bigs have taken longer to mature. I suspect same is true WBB. Hayven needs to improve her agility and jumping. She looked very slow last season. Lottery ticket. She is 19.

Kendall's offense improved significantly. 7 ppg 11 rbg in 29 minutes as sophomore to 16 ppg 11 rbg as grad 35 minutes. Somebody on staff worked with her. I trust Shauna has somebody working with all our bigs.

I saw big improvement from early big season to the end. Better awareness, better at working early and getting in position for rebounds not watching. Small sample. Matchup dependent big but B10 has a lot of big physical centers. Teams without tall center and spreads it out, won’t play.

Agree. She was pretty solid on the west coast trip.

Played against two #1 seeds centers - although UCLA AA center was injured.
Not in their class but Shauna had to play her with KB in foul trouble. Good experience for her.
She is very slow so she needs to work hard on agility, shot blocking and rebounding in off season. She did not get many defense rebounds despite her size (did not jump).
