Iowa lives off blocked punts. They'll block at least one of ours, I'm afraid. But I do want to see our D against their impotent O.Congratulations to the team for a convincing win despite trying to give it away. This DL is going to be fun to watch!
I'm now expecting a win against Iowa based on how pathetic their offense is, and how good our defense is.
I think they are making an effort. Today was high school band day and there were hundreds and hundreds of free tickets handed out to the high school musicians. Educators were admitted free to the Wyoming game. They announced at the game that student tickets are free for Chattanooga at least. It's a start and it's nice to see they've been doing it on occasions when they really want to draw people out. I agree that it needs to happen more often though.

We need to bring back Pork Day.Today was Ag Day too wasn't it? I thought I heard Barnhart mention something about that on the radio.
Ouch. Shows we're being mentioned with some of the more pathetic programs. Hopefully we're rising to a level where we aren't thought of in the same breath as Kansas football. Here's an odd stat for today:
Illinois beat Iowa at home 47-7. Duke beat Clemson at home 19-13. Kansas won at Iowa State 41-23.
That’s wild. My Senior year in C-U.Here's an odd stat for today:

Appreciate the sacrificeOk...so.... I go to work.... and Iowa, ND, Wisconsin, and Miznoz all lose....and we dominate a team that sh#t whipped us last year?
Sigh........ok I'll just go change my schedule now.
At least this guy showed up.

For the life of me I'll never ever understand how someone wouldn't be a fan of the "war chant". That always got the crowd hyped as hell, was catchy as hell and I've lost count of how many fans / alums of other Big Ten teams admired the hell out of it.Just the things like celebrating TDs, the pregame entrance, videos and music during the game (although that’s still a major work in progress). Even something as simple as fireworks. I mean, the 3rd down defense needs more hype. That’s for sure. I was never a fan of the war chant for that reason too.
I don’t know it just felt better today.
Less inconveniences, maybe.

If loving watching our players' pregame entrances, TD celebrations, music being played loud as hell, our awesome band performing the "war chant" in beautiful hyped up harmony is considered an "inconvenience" then I suppose Illinois should just stick to tennis & golf. (FTR, I respect the heck out of both tennis and golf but come on man, lets embrace making Illinois football fun & entertaining again!
They used to charter buses from ChicagoIt's a strange feeling beating a Power 5 opponent by 3 TD's and still being somewhat disappointed.
Also Witherspoon gives 110% every snap but needs to tone his talking down a bit. Every time he makes a play, I am keeping one eye on the ref seeing if he is going to get flagged. It's the same feeling I always had with Daniel Barker.
The other issue that needs fixing is the attendance. It's embarrassing when the game intro shows the crowd and it is 2/3 empty. Other than continued winning, does anyone have any good ideas? Maybe go to every grade school and high school in a 1 hour radius of Champaign and offer free or heavily reduced tickets? Maybe charter busses from Chicago for fans? I'm no marketing expert but I know some major changes need to happen.
If that doesn’t work there’s always cardboard cutouts. They used to charter buses from Chicago
And high school kids got In really cheap
Maybe you could fill an empty seat too
Yeah, definitely missed the group text to wear the orange top, not the blueOne of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
