Every time people begin harshing on Monte I like to bring up this "culture block" that netted us a huge win v. Minnesota two years ago tomorrow. It extended a six-game winning streak, and came the game after Ayo's dagger at the buzzer in Ann Arbor. This is the game after which Illini MBB posted a video of BU grabbing Monte's head and kissing it in the locker room. This guy and Trent are the foundation of what the boys and BU have built the past four+ seasons. Please never forget it.

They found a way...in spite of the lid on the hoop and a poorly called game that favored NW a bit.

First a nod of the head to a game NW team who played their tales off.

Secondly, a bow to the three Illiini frosh who deserve recognition for their outstanding contribution as a group to this win.

Every team will suffer a game or two when the ball simply will not go in the basket. Winning two in a row like this is sooooooooooo good for so many reasons. Damonte and Trent should give those young'uns a big hug for stepping up and playing like veteran B1G warriors.

Enough said, back to business with the toughest part of the schedule in the next three games. I would put them all in hypnosis and have them watch films of shot after shot going in while the narrative feeds them tales of how they play the game perfectly. Gotta change narrative on offense. Would BU consider starting RJ in place of Grandy. JG is in a funk and RJ brings aggressive speed to the offense which is much needed at the moment. Might even give JG a much needed visual of what he needs to do...but we will see.

Regardless, winning close, ugly games helps build confidence and unity. Not that this team lacks either but those two brothers are currently on a short vacation....I hope!

Brad needs to find a way to rest Trent and go to the bench—there’s talent there.

That said…another roadkill.

Game ball to Podz to come in cold and make big shots and play great D.
Yep definitely need Andre back and healthy. Trent is taking on all of the primary ball handling and it has to be draining given the amount of minutes he's been playing. He needs a break.

Agree with everything you said. I think Grandy does alot of things on the defensive glass that go unnoticed and I still trust him at the end of games. I think RJ / Goode are going to start eating more of Grandy's minutes though..

IMO you sit grandi since he’s disappeared, is an effective TO machine even if it doesn’t show up on the stat sheet, and is a liability on D. RJ, Goode, and Hawk all make mistakes but contribute to the offense to some extent. When grandi and DMW are on the floor together we’re just playing catch at the top of the key. This is exacerbated when Kofi gets breathers

It really, really seemed like the zeebs were trying to keep NU in this thing. Both of those flop calls were ridiculous, and as usual every time Kofi goes to the hoop he's fighting through hacks and grabs. I've watched a handful of ACC games this week and in exactly zero of them did I notice the officiating like I do in nearly every B1G game I watch.
