How good is MSU. I am having a hard time judging them. They don’t have a great record and their last 6 games other than @NW they have played well.

This win will be a good win at the end of the season. To me they are in the top half but not sure where to rank them in my head.

I haven't heard the PG presser but am confident Brad opened with something like "That was just a great Big Ten Basketball game." And it was. Loved it pole to pole.

Conclusions:
1. Coleman
2. Coleman
3. Coleman
4. Ty
5. Ty
6. Ty
7. Luke
8. Luke (minus the FT at the end)
9. Justin!!!!
10. Quincy!!
11. Marcus (doubled and draped all night long and was still effective)

I love me some Illinois-Michigan State basketball games. MSU just dog tough, well-coached and relentless. Hoggard flaps but he's a baller. Walker and Hall a joy to watch. Carr's gonna be a beast. So satisfying to take them down.

Now let's absolutely destroy the Terps on Sunday. :illinois:🏀

Unfortunately no way, those are too much about stats to voters. That video of him all over his guy until he just gave up doesn’t show in stats but is absolutely worthy of it.
He should get more attention. He switches between Tyson Walker and sissoko like it's nothing, rebounds, blocks, steals, help defends and takes charges.

A menace on the defensive side!

He's playing so much better than he was the first 8 games this season, it's honestly incredible. His defense was abysmal to start the season and both the eye test and analytics showed it. But he's flipped the switch since TSJ has been out. It’s a pleasure to watch. He has absolutely been a big time player for us these past few games and I'm thrilled
A poor man's TSJ?

Updated efficiency margin after tonight's games:

- Couple bad offensive games tonight (or good defensive games, you decide!), slowed the offensive pace a bit
- Illinois win ties them for 2nd in the B1G with ... *checks notes* ... Minnesota and Northwestern
- Michigan State and Michigan now tied for last in the B1G (though I think MSU is a better team than that and their schedule gets easier here fast)

Weekly B1G Power Rankings:
1. Purdue - Still probably the best team in college basketball, but boy did they take that game off on Tuesday, at lest defensively.
2. Illinois - Hey, they split the two games, one they were down big all game and scrambled back at the end, the other they led effectively 90% of the game and held them off at the end.
3. Wisconsin - Two impressive road wins and a favorable schedule puts them in the driver's seat for the B1G title at this point. Top 3 close enough you could practically call them 1A/1B/1C. Then a massive gap to...
4. Nebraska - Hard to argue anyone else at this point. Two double digit wins in the last 3 and made Purdue look almost ordinary.
5. Michigan State - Yes, they're tied for last by record, but this is still a dangerous team that probably would have beaten almost anyone else tonight with their effort and allowed bully ball.
6. Ohio State - Still lurking around for a middling NCAA tournament seed. Would have been in a great spot if they had held on against Wisconsin.
7. Northwestern - Big win over MSU, made them look bad. Almost like MSU was overlooking them early this week with another game on their minds.
8. Minnesota - By talent they have no business being here. However, everyone else has been terrible so here they are.
9. Indiana - I guess they're here. Their offense is miserable, but their defense is good.
10. Iowa - They've got to be a better team than they've shown thus far, but at least they won a game.
11. Rutgers - Like Indiana, but even worse offensively.
12. Maryland - Two wins already! I really hope Illinois beats them handily this weekend. They owe them a few.
13. Penn State - Also two wins already! Probably the least talented team in the league, but beat Michigan and Ohio State already and lost to Maryland in OT.
14. Michigan - Last in the league, lost to Maryland and PSU already, wait until they play tough games.

Based on Izzo’s comments seems like he felt they did a lot of what they needed to win and still lost. That’s really good to hear given we looked rough for some long stretches. Of course Izzo could be trying a new tactic with his team but we took some good punches from them today.
