Illinois 73, Nebraska 57 POSTGAME

It makes me very satisfied to see what a solid player Morgan has turned out to be.

He has worked very hard on his game and will play for money somewhere IMO.

People are getting soft nowadays. Did Leron shove him? Yes. Is that a dirty play? No. Dirty plays, to me, are plays that can injure a player. Morrow was already falling to the ground and Leron helped make sure he got there.:D

Morrow was fouling hard out of frustration and getting chippy. Glad Leron put him in his place.

That's the way I saw it too. "Get OFF me, b#*$ !". Could have really slammed him but didn't. Just sorta shucked him after Morrow hacked him.

Good move to pull him at that point too. As one of the announcers said Nobody's happy right now.

I'm pretty sure TJL and Kipper were not ready to play major minutes early. Maybe he should have played them earlier in conference but it's hard to te judge without seeing practice. I know they have made a difference in February.

Lucas has made such a difference on Offense and he totally shut off Watson defensively. He by next year is one of the better point guards in the league. The difference he has made is huge

I agree that TJL and Kipper were not ready at the start of the season. Having said that, it is interesting that in Hill's freshman year we did not turn it around until Groce started Hill and Nunn.

Abrams was huge tonight. Also great adjustment by Groce to put Abrams in for JCL when Watson started hounding Lucas. Gave us 2 PGs on the floor and kept Nebraska from making a run.

Nice all around play guys. Great win on the road with a big enough lead to keep the heart rate down! Wish we could have rested MH and TJL more.

They play with an edge that was absent the first half of the season. I thought they were getting pushed around until recently. Maybe Groce finally toughened up a bit. He certainly had nothing to lose.

From 3-8 to 7-9 a nice 4 out of 5 run. They may have waited a bit too late, but this stretch has been fun to watch. Prolly need 3 more wins at least to dance.

Why do games like this get relegated to BTN and the ones we lose always on ABCCBSNBCESPNFOX?

Simple but really accurate post. Also remember Tracy was out of his mind in no conference season and blocking minutes and Kipper ineligible until mid-December.

Hard to fault for not playing Kipper and TJL earlier since Kipper wasn't eligible to later and TJL was coming off an injury. But there was a transition period (early Janurary) when he needed to play both much more. It didn't happen we lost and now we have finally settled on a line-up.

So glad this team hasn't given up, it got ugly in Weber's last year. Glad to see Kipper and TJL showing promise and overall having a successful first season at Illinois. It bodes well for them staying, IMHO.

Even if Illinois were to beat MSU, Rutgers, and win the first round Big Ten Tourney game...I still feel like it wouldn't be enough to get into the NCAA Tourney. They need to do more damage in the Big Ten Tourney to get in.

I agreed with this sentiment a week or so ago. Since that time, a whole lot of other bubbles have burst. We have a chance of dancing by simply winning out. If we add a single win in the BTT, I now think we dance for sure.
