I think the All-American got the 50/50 call there.
I looked at the video about 20x. The refs made the right call for the entertainment of the game. But almost 50/50 call. Ayo attempted to avoid contact and caught Sueing on the left shoulder. Right call overall.

I went back to look at the pregame odds. OSU was favored by 2.5 points. How can anyone complain and say IL played poorly or it was an ugly win when the final margin was +5 of the good guys? You can't be dogs, win outright and also play poorly.

I take it you like Dick Vitale. Somehow college basketball would be fine without him. The game is about the players and coaches. He was hawking his products.
I stand by every syllable of what I posted.
I would like sports to be about sports and
not politics and cancer. We get enough of that the other 22 hours of the day. Dick Vitale is a shameless self promoter who relates every situation to himself.
High school players know if Vitale is doing the game, the teams are relevant. It helps the program. He has 875k Twitter followers. Every positive tweet helps our program. And sometimes it’s good to cut an 81 year old legend some slack even if he is no longer the best color commentator.

Had to run out right after the game. It's all been said, but I have to say BU has won me over. He has proved his coaching chops (with much credit due to the staff he has assembled) with the crap sandwich schedule the B10 gave us this year. I know, I know, COVID etc etc etc. But he has this team peaking at the exact right moment and won a string of TOUGH road conference games and winning 11 out of 12 after the 1st OSU game. After that Saturday game in January there is no way this was a 1 seed. What he and the team have done in the past 7 weeks since then will be justly rewarded with a 1 seed - it's a stone, cold LOCK. And any time you win your 16th regular season big ten game it is a BEAUTIFUL win. This team's chemistry and heart is unquestionable. Now it's GO TIME. Let's keep the train rolling all the way to the FINAL 4. I don't care which side we are put on, this team has a chance against anybody in the nation. Tough as nails!

Wow. A game we didn’t deserve to win whatsoever... yet this team finds a way. Wins at Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio State to finish the season? That’s insane. I-L-L
Curious why we didn’t deserve to win whatsoever? Out shot them, out rebounded them, drew significantly more fouls on them, turnovers about even, and clutch at the end.

Made fewer 3’s, ft % not great.

Ya, I saw that. He totally thought it was Ayo that had gone to the rim because Curbelo’s play looked identical to what Ayo has done so many times over the last 3 years. When he said that and made the mistake it really gave me hope for our future because I really think Curbelo will pick up right where Ayo left off (but with more distribution). If we find a way to replace Kofi (and I’m not just talking a single dominant big - lots of ways to win) then I think this may not even be our best team in the next 3 years.
Do you think Kofi is leaving after this year? Haven’t heard much but it would surprise me at all.

Not to mention Illinois had the lead in this game for how many minutes compared to Ohio State?

With one day of B1G play (4 games) remaining, here is the updated per-possession standings:

Barring a bad loss, Michigan will finish with the best EM overall in the league, and probably deserving of the #1 seed in the league. Illinois a clear #2, Iowa separated themselves recently as the clear #3, Ohio State getting close to Purdue in overall EM, so it makes sense for them to be 4-5 (though technically OSU is the 5 due to that friendly Purdue schedule). Wisconsin a clear #6, and finishes up at Iowa to try to stay above water in overall EM.

Rutgers and Maryland clear 7-8 (Maryland will get the official 7 with a win vs PSU, Rutgers is the 7 otherwise), with PSU being better than their record overall, having been rarely beat big despite 12 losses in conference (4 losses by more than 10 points all season). Indiana really fell apart down the stretch and is a clear #10 (and have now clinched the 10 seed in the B1G tournament). MSU and Minnesota finish about identical in EM, though MSU has played better of late while Minnesota has completely fallen apart. Northwestern the clear #13 and Nebraska the clear #14, and they finally play each other for the first time tomorrow.

Purdue also beat OSU twice. So it wasn't just due to their friendly schedule.
