Things that may have been said throughout this thread, but don’t recall seeing and I’m also repeating:
I love the poise of our freshmen. It says a lot that Underwood had all 4 playing at the same time. I don’t feel that stress I’ve felt in the past with most freshmen when they play extensive minutes. Epps is going to be a special player. Clark is surprisingly very good defensively. He uses his size, moves well, and does a nice job taking the right angles. Not having all of them return next year would be disapointing.
I’m impressed with the chemistry of this team with so many new players, especially Shannon and Hawkins.
We were a little too unselfish at times during this game.
Hawkins is the reason you hope players stay at one school. Watching his maturity has been fun. I would have liked to see him take more shots from the free throw line and in, but ultimately he did a terrific job being that point forward at the top of the key.
When the lightbulb went on In the second half against the zone, it was a thing of beauty.
It’s tough to beat a team that can switch at every position without having a major disadvantage outside of Danja. We will only get better! Kudos to the staff for putting this team together and preparing them.
