Good at making turnovers, yes.Oh, and Curbelo is good.
Well it's either he hasn't figured it in two years or it's that he isn't able to adjust to playing behind Kofi. I love Giorgi, but this year has been riddled with foul-ridden games and clear frustration. It's not hard to spot this.well, I call BS on that. When Kofi came in BU talked about how it was up BU to come up with schemes to get Giorgi touches and points. They haven't got it figured out yet and it's unfortunate. Giorgi's being asked to be a player he isn't. I don't think it's so much about acceptance as ability. Happens with a lot of guys where coaches and fans think they can change their game.
His assist/TO ratio is almost equal to DWill's freshman year.Good at making turnovers, yes.
As it should...we were playing against the worst team in the B1G and just barely eeked by. Granted I think they played better than they normally do and probably were gunning for the Illini, but ultimately ran out of steam. This win dropped us from #5 to #9 on Torvik.
He's amont the conf leaders in A/TO ratio in conference play and 2nd in asists.Good at making turnovers, yes.
Ik curbelo is doing good for Illinois I’m saying for the future to improve his game, if he develops even a 35% from 3 and with a descent big he could be incrediblePlease don't tell me how good Curbelo is. Right now he is a liability. He makes the same mistakes game after game after game. That does not tell me he has such a high BB IQ.
Curbelo is the X factor on the scouting report because the defense can't really prepare for him. He keeps them guessing and forces a reaction which opens up the floor.
Tonight was just not a good night for him. I told my brother that there are 3 things he tends to do every game.
1. Reach in and make a silly foul
2. Step out on the side
3. Dribble it off his foot
Maybe that is a scouting report LOL
Yep, And his actual assists are higher despite less minutes. He's a backup PG and has still managed to be 2nd in the league in assists in league play. Kid's goodHis assist/TO ratio is almost equal to DWill's freshman year.
We can all spot this. But there's a big difference between "not accepting his role" and "not being able to succeed in a new role"Well it's either he hasn't figured it in two years or it's that he isn't able to adjust to playing behind Kofi. I love Giorgi, but this year has been riddled with foul-ridden games and clear frustration. It's not hard to spot this.

You are really comparing DWill to Curbelo. DWill always looked like he knew how to play the game. Curbelo looks like he is playing street ball. I don't recall DWill making so many dumb turnovers, being out of control and on the floor, or throwing up so many circus shots. I would think by now there would be some improvement. His assist/TO ratio is almost equal to DWill's freshman year.
to 6?Kenpom drop is an unbelievable joke
i dont think so. it's not confusing or a mystery we didn't take care of business. When you're favored by 15, you can't go to OT.Kenpom drop is an unbelievable joke
technically it's next week and it's not the Illini but I sure am gonna be hate watching against scUM on Sunday. Go Badgers.I can't believe that's the only game I get this week. I need a palate cleanser.
Agreed. Freshmen around the country are really struggling, as evidenced by some of the blue bloods, who rely on one and dones, being awful. There was a very minimal preconference season, teams didn't have their 5+ cupcakes built into that portion of the schedule...they were thrown right into the fire. This will pay dividends, but it probably won't be until next year. They just have to roll with it now. He's just a freshman...averaging 8pts and 5 assists per game. You have to take the good with the bad if you are going to give freshmen significant minutes.
Ace was a nightmare on defense to start the year. Look at where he is now.
We will remember Curbelo for a long time after he's done here. Give him a hot minute.
