Who knows? Maybe long, baggy shorts will be en vogue once more 🤷‍♂️

Looking at those, is there a single person who would rather us wear the current jerseys over the throwbacks? The throwbacks are so much better and it's not even close.
The throwbacks are great but, honestly, I have no issues with the current ones. Far better than the awful trash that debuted in 2006 (I think) and the series of trash that followed it on through the Groce era.

Agreed the current crop is way better than anything we've had recently, though I don't love the font. The throwbacks are just beautiful.

Man, on some real ****:

That 3 minute or so stretch after Kofi caught foul number 4 was like a pure, golden light lit, angels with wings unfurled rockin lingerie and singing from the heavens type burst of redemption. That few minutes of ball filled me with the kind of joy that reminds human beings that, yes, even the worst varieties of misery can in fact be overcome and cleansed away by unexpected moments of miraculous beauty.

Up until that point, this game was a steady diet of frustration, indignation, and emotional constipation. Bro, I was damn near on my knees appealing to all the basketball gods for us to finally play like a Big Ten title contender. And when Kofi got tagged with 他第四次犯规, and then Nebraska tied the game with the 2 subsequent free throws, I was already mentally preparing for the discomfort that I would feel across the next several days every time I thought about the fact that we let the Cornhuskers put doo doo stains on our once virgin pure, undefeated BT record. (This type of emotional defense mechanism is a direct consequence of the trauma inflicted onto me by Illini basketball across the Bruce Weber-John Groce eras).

But then, in defiance of all expectation, Omar I-Came-To-Bring-The-Payne Hardcore-From-the-Brain, took all of Illini Nation inside his astral plane.

Yo, I felt what Andy Dufresne did in that moment he emerged from the caca tunnel, finally liberated from the oppression and suffering of Shawshank. Because that first 90+% of the game was a straight prison sentence. But then, watching the Fighting Illini perform after Kofi took to the bench felt *exactly* like this...

Concerning Andre Curbelo, I was a bit concerned last night by his yelling at the ref and then seemingly hoisting a shot up from the bench. After reading some posts here I went back and looked a bit closer. Someone said here that the Nebraska kid had put up his hand toward the shooter on a previous free throw. I found it toward the end of the first half. Curbelo can be seen telling the coaching staff at that point. He becomes angry when it happens again in the 2nd half. After understanding what really happened I am actually encouraged that though he is dealing with the lingering effects of a concussion he was still the only person in the gym to accurately identify a clear violation that should have been addressed at least by a warning. Also, as someone else pointed out, what seemed a bit like a 3 point shot attempt from the bench was clearly an animated pass to the ref that was not out of line at all. The ref was not upset at all by it. Hope Andre is back in uniform soon. Glad to see that he is engaged on the bench while not able to play.

Well said. A lot of people on here are pretty quick to jump to some unfortunate conclusions from literal seconds of footage and it keeps happening. BU has instilled a solid culture. We have a great bunch of guys on this team. We should be giving them the benefit of the doubt.

The announcers were going off like he actually tried to shoot the ball but you could clearly see it bounced right to the ref standing behind the basket. I know he's had some post concussion problems but I don't think his aim would be THAT bad.

Not to mention the fact that he was laughing hysterically and falling over when he did it.

✋ i'm gonna put myself out there. i'd actually like to keep the blue with orange lettering uniforms (I think there was a discussion a while back that some other people like that one too). Get rid of the modern white and orange and replace with throwbacks. But the blue ones, i think, look sleek, and are the only one we have that's truly orange and blue with no other colors.

I like all of the throw backs but would love to see a camo set... Blue uniforms in camo with orange and white lettering... Just something different... Then maybe we could go all military for the mascot since the ball less wonders are not ever gonna show some balls and bring the chief back...😂😂😂😂

This is NOT a knock on Trent. It's a knock on thoughts of what numbers will be hanging. That is supposed to be an "elite" honor. An honor for Players of the Year, All Americans, etc. Kofi makes that cut.

TF has been a great ambassador for the university, he's been loyal, he's been a swiss army knife for his team....he's the kind of kid that a coach dreams about having. That said, has he ever been even mentioned for conference player of the year? How highly is he thought of when All Conference teams have been elected?

We love TF. He's earned that. Like someone said, he's an everyday, lunch pail, bring the effort daily guy. However, if you do that for him, you open the door for a LOT of numbers being up there.

Is Malcolm Hill up there yet?

That honor has to remain for the who's who of Illinois basketball. Again, not a knock on TF. Just can't start putting every number in the rafters for a fan favorite or just a really, really good player. BU seems to be a little flippant when he makes that comments, but he should be. He loves his guys.
I get what you are saying as I know you are not trashing on Trent. As a staunch proponent of the Baseball HOF, I do not want just anyone in the Hall.

I can't believe I'm about to type this: I'd like to divert the thread back to the original topic concerning the Nebraska game.:unsure::ROFLMAO:

For some reason when I woke up this morning and saw that Trent summary on IlliniMBB Twitter (29 pts, 5 assists, 4 steals) it just knocked me over in a way it didn't a couple nights ago. What an absolute stud we have in him.

OK, enough of that. Back to pru's NILs (Neighbor Incomparable Ladies.) :illinois:
