The only downside to this is that we now need to root for Duke so this win continues to look fantastic.

You're right, just like mom was every time she told me to clean my room and make my bed.

I was just saying that you were comparing to Deron and Frank. The only thing I was saying was That in my opinion DERON and Frank Cannot be mentioned in the same sentence. Hahaha. Deron was/is a beast.
Their NBA careers shouldn’t be compared, but their college careers could be. Frank could turn it on about as good as any player I could remember.

Just my humble opinion. Did Frank go on to play in the nba? I really don't know
He played for a bit. Knicks. Was ready to move into a starting role and then they trade for Marbury, I believe. That was pretty much it for Frank.

Nice win and a fun game to watch. Seems like they could have won by more, but it is tough to blow out a ranked team. So I’m happy with a comfortable win.

I hope Miller is good. Giorgi another good game, Kofi a tick off but 13-8 can't complain, we had 6 in dbl figures and Miller with 9 ( hope he's ok) few ORs, plus 10 whole game, all good!

Go Nats 88 Illini

Fairfax, VA
This was a below avg. game for the Illini...and you can be certain BU and the players know that. The game was won because one team shot the lights out and the other was shooting in the dark...pretty simple. Never seen a Duke team shoot that poorly...or for that matter....very few Illini teams shoot that well....since 1956 when we got our first TV and I started watching Manny Jackson and Govoner Vaughn compliments of Chesty potato chips. Likely we will never see such a disparity with the poorer shooting team walking away with a win. But that ultimately is what basketball is all about....putting the ball in the basket. However, the rest of the play was at very best average. It will be a good win on the resume, but for anyone watching, until this team cleans up the turnovers, passing, bad fouls, and free throw shooting, they will be beatable by the Ohios and Northwesterns on the schedule and struggle to get past the Second Round.

But do that, and they can beat anyone. They can do and accomplish whatever they set their minds to. With a willingness to listen to the coaches and work hard, they can achieve beyond their dreams. Anything worth accomplishing at that level comes with discipline and hard work. Just do it!
I agree Duke underplayed, and shot poorly. Illini played good D which led to some of the Duke poor play, but yes Duke shot poorly. But UI handled the pressure, kept the lead and won. Sorry you cannot enjoy this and see the Illini winning as a below average game. Hope you feel better, though. Yes, things to clean up (it's early December) but a good win.

It's just an opinion and I was asking a question about Frank. I am not saying compare their NBA careers. I did not even know if Frank went in the NBA.. CALM DOWN GEEZ

All good my man, just some 2000-era Illini sticking up for His Royal Frankness

More turnovers than assists, duke murdered us in offensive boards (but that happens when they miss a lot and we don't). Kofi and Ayo had ehh games again and we still win by 15. We're legit. Crazy how much depth we'll have when Hawkins and Grandson figure it out.

We did to Duke what Baylor did to us. Total control of the game. Frustrated their offense, pressured their guards, and leveraged our experience to limit their ability to mount any kind of comeback.

Sucks when it happens to you. But oh so satisfying when you do it to someone else.
We were more competitive with Baylor. We lost control during a bad stretch in the second but we were better against Baylor. Duke we jumped on them out of the gate and controlled the whole game.

Wow. B1G 6 ACC 1 so far. Good for rankings when we beat the rest of the B1G. :)

For those who are looking at the sloppiness and fretting, i would suggest looking at things from a slightly different perspective. We just played the #10 team at their place, and were so dominant that the coach left our freshman PG in to work out his kinks against them. Curbelo didn't get a quick hook because there was no need to hook him. He got valuable experience against a quality team, and we still won big. That will help in the future, and shows how dominant we were today.
