He was probably hoping to run into DJ and start complaining again. Is there a backstory on why Cronin did his post game presser in a SFC corridor (gray concrete backdrop) vs. the media room?
No he just didn’t have it yesterdayIs DGL in the doghouse too?
Just was sick for two weeks. If they had what I did it really lingers aroundIf DGL and Tre are dealing with the same thing I've been dealing with for the last 7 or 8 days, I can understand why they aren't playing. Definitely have no energy. Some nasty stuff floating around out there.
In the grand scheme of things, he's averaging 3.6 TOs. A non-turnover prone PG would be averaging maybe 2 or 2.5. So that's 1 or 1.5 wasted possessions per game. I think the turnover thing is being blown out of proportion a little bit. But if he does improve in that area, sky's really the limit for him.big win, another win Saturday and I’m guessing we jump a whole seed line.
KJ is always going to have a few wild turnovers, it’s just how he plays. What he can do outweighs a few turnovers a game as maddening as it is.
Impressive to pull out a win against an impressive defensive team in UCLA…especially when they shoot 50%+ from 3.
If you HAD to pick one to step up to shoot those foil shots, would you put a freshman up there with no experience taking pressure shots or a senior who had been in the position? You know that answer.Ben is a 63% FT shooter Morez is a 61% FT. That’s a wash.
Are you so sure that Ben is quicker than Morez?
Maybe my imagination but 80% of the makes were against Ivisic with Boswell going over a screen. There seemed to be no adjustment. While I think this is true in many cases where an opposing player has gone off against us, I can all but guarantee that could not possibly have been the plan with Bilodeau. Coming into the game, Bilodeau was UCLA's best 3pt shooter (over 40%) on moderate volume and he's now Top 100 in the nation in 3pt shooting percentage. Opting to give him open threes would be a terrible nonsensical pregame scout. As in so bad, even if this was cooked up by one of the assistant coaches, it would have been easily shut down by Brad
I think the better explanation is that we simply didn't have a defensive gameplan that was either good enough or implementable enough by our players to sufficiently guard him behind the arc. He should not have been getting open looks. The fact that he was tells us that the gameplan was borked or players completely ignored the scout and coaches. I'm opting for poor gameplan.
A good reason is trusting that BU knows what he is doing most of the time. Ben's stat line last night was fine for Ben. Zero turnovers vs a team that forces a lot of them, 40% from 3, 75% from the line blocked shot, physical D option in the post after Tomi or Rez. Well there was a possession where Will Riley trying to stop a power forward in the post and he was moved out of the way with a bump as if he weighed 90lbs. I'm fine with the role Ben played last night. Will still played 31 minutes and if those that played only Dre and Jake played under 10. Rez had fouls fairly early. Dre obviously playing a completely different role. Now if White comes around then he may take some minutes but Ben is needed with only 2 true bigs.
Notably, last night was not one of those cases, though.I get your joke so haha and all that but we have had games where we outscored the other team for 39 minutes and then they outscored us in the last 1 minute and we lost so it is a valid concern
Next time just don't let them outscore us for the last 6 minutes, please and thank you

This is purely anecdotal but the answer is maybe. Ben seems very nervous in pressured situations. Look at Ben's performance against high caliber opponents historically and in clutch situations...If you HAD to pick one to step up to shoot those foil shots, would you put a freshman up there with no experience taking pressure shots or a senior who had been in the position? You know that answer.
Yes, Ben is FAR more comfortable on the perimeter and that isn't even a question. He's a perimeter player and playing defense 20 feet away is much more in his wheelhouse. Morez's drop back into the paint isn't good, which creates the need for the guards to crash.
PEr piper, over the last 3 Ben is averaging 10 and 5 with 2 assists and 1 block, while shooting above 40% from 3. And yet youd think he's been the worst player in the world in these threads lolBen did play 35 minutes and didn't make a single turnover, a couple assists, 40% from 3, played physical and last night was 75% from the line. Also, historically Ben is a 73% FT shooter and is obviously prefered to Morez at the line. If BU thought Morez could shoot as well as Ben in any area he would likely have played instead of Ben. I know I wanted Kylan at the line but I didn't want Morez on the floor if UCLA is clearly fouling. Clearly BU didn't either nor should he.
And after Tomi and Rez, Ben is our 3rd best post defender without fouling much.PEr piper, over the last 3 Ben is averaging 10 and 5 with 2 assists and 1 block, while shooting above 40% from 3. And yet youd think he's been the worst player in the world in these threads lol
Give Ben a break.PEr piper, over the last 3 Ben is averaging 10 and 5 with 2 assists and 1 block, while shooting above 40% from 3. And yet youd think he's been the worst player in the world in these threads lol
On top of playing pretty sound defense as well!PEr piper, over the last 3 Ben is averaging 10 and 5 with 2 assists and 1 block, while shooting above 40% from 3. And yet youd think he's been the worst player in the world in these threads lol
We let Biladeau have a career game and survived. Got to stay focused at end of games. Good win. Keep staking them

I think Boz has been unfairlyI really like Bos’ game. He usually stays within himself. Sometimes, he does force things, but I love his defense. He’s got Trent Frazier tenacity.
I think Boz has played very well on defense, is finishing better, turning it over less, and just needs to shoot the 3 more like he has historically. He did hit a huge 3 last night and I think he will revert back to how he has preformed at Zona with better shot selection. There's no one I'd rather have at the line or with the ball if we are ahead to finish a game. He showed why to close it out last night with a few nice plays vs the press and at the line.I think Boz has been unfairlyed on here, mainly b/c he's had some games that show his ceiling and folks expected to see more of that, but his floor is a really good contributor, someone who plays their butt off on defense, and a program rep and locker room guy. He'll be an important piece of next year's team too.
Morez was a +8 in 20 minutes while Ben was a -3 in 35. And Morez committed 1 foul the whole game. Explain it to me. Someone. Anyone.
These contradict each other.I really like Bos’ game. He usually stays within himself. Sometimes, he does force things, but I love his defense. He’s got Trent Frazier tenacity.
You seem to misunderstand. We want you to explain to us what Brad is thinking here. This …
