Didn’t want to jinx anything but before this game I thought, pencil Minnix in for 30, and give them 10 3’s. That’s 60. Where are they going to get another 25 points?

Look at the box score at the end, Minnix has 27, they have 11 3s and finish with 69. We finish with 85.

Looks like Duquesne is a great defense that turns people over, but they give up a ton of offensive rebounds and are way upside down on free throw ratio. If we take care of the ball and are aggressive, we should have a great shot to win.

I think Underwood needs to have them play a half of basketball before the game against Duquesne starts. We've been a second half team lately.

Dain was awesome. Domask with the 10th triple-double in NCAA tourney history. Shannon dominate in the first half.
This is what tournament about. Your opponent game plans you to slow you down and plays really hard. Basically, they try to P&R us to death and close in when Domask comes close to paint. The nice thing is you can’t game plan TSJ and they forget about Dain. We might start seeing teams double team Dain and he needs to know how to pass.

haven’t seen any comments yet about our coaching adjustments at halftime.

we made it a point to exploit the post early in the second half and it paid off big time.

the defense also locked in big time.

the ACs have been attacked for most of the year, just figured I would give them a shout out for excellent halftime adjustments.
Give credit where credit is due! If the Illini can be within a few points or lead going into the second half, they have a very good chance of going far in this tournament.

I am thrilled with the win. Second half, our guys showed out. Maybe the 3-14 battle seems predetermined, but it never ever is. Great work, fellas, keep on truckin' (ha ha, older than I look), and let's F***'in ROLL! Yeah, baby, OUR GUYS WON!

It's not even 7 p.m. here. What the heck am I going to do with myself for the remainder of the evening?! Watch Oakland take down Kentucky?
I plan to see what Iowa State looks like, and also I took a liking to NC State and one DJ Burns.

Furthermore, I think Kansas could go down to Samford. I also am interested to see Drake and Washington State, as I'm wondering if one of them can beat Iowa State. (I have Drake picked to beat them)

Yea, neither Q nor Ty seemed to be involved at all today. Bout the only negative to speak of. Thankfully we have a deep bench.
While I do agree that Quincy didn't get involved much at all today. I have a slightly different take on Ty. I thought Ty was trying out there, especially on defense and on the boards and that he was making the runs to get to the right spots, but I think nerves got to him. At least he looked very jittery out there. I mean that was an easy at least 4 if not 6pts for him on 2 less turnovers most nights this season. And a line of 6pts, 3rebs, 2asts with 0 turnovers in 13min looks much better. So he was involved but he really struggled.

Here's hoping he needed this day to get it out of his system and come out like a beast on Saturday. We're going to need him defensively and on the boards. It was painful seeing him come out like he did today, but if goes back to BTT Ty the next few games, then I'm glad this happened today instead of a stinker in a game where his play will be pivotal.
