It certainly didn't feel that way last year when Tre White got benched in February and the team definitely needed him.He is NOT like Bruce Weber where his senseless feuds with his precious few talented guys leave the team in a weak positiom

In hindsight, knowing what we know about Keaton, I think a good potential petrovic replacement could've been Adam Miller. Just in terms of what would fit THIS team right now.this is a good example of why I think it’s tough to evaluate players based on their pay. Any veteran guard we brought in, would have been “overpaid” contrary to what their role would actually be due to the emergence of Wagler.
Agree with Indy, I’d love a bigger senior guard dog defensively off the bench. But even they wouldn’t play that much, and when Brock Harding is going for over a million bucks, idk how many players fit that bill.
I mean Rio Grande and UConn were the only games where he got any run to get into a rhythm. Some reason lol. I say this as someone who doesnt criticize players very often but the dude absolutely does not care about playing defense or as part of a team. He's completely out in left field mentally most of the time to the point where he doesn't even know who he is supposed to be covering let alone knowing a scouting report. Why would you trust that guy on the court?
2 techs = 4 fouls.I think it was referring to points. 1 flagrant is two free throws and the ball, a potential 4 or 5 point swing.
Agreed, and to go with in game performance, Brad sees him in practice every day, so he knows what he has with him at this point of the season. We as in us. Brad certainly knows who he is and doesn't need 25 minutes of game time to see it.
But during the Maryland game you could see him miss a rotation and they buried a 3. That'll kill you if you do it for 25 minutes no matter who you play.
Because our nominal point guard who has played the most minutes on the team is now hurt and needs replacing, and we have a 23 year old veteran professional basketball player at that position who we spent a ton of NIL on.Why are we going on and on about Petrovic?!?
You can have the greatest skill set and not play, if you refuse to play the style of play of the system. People assume it’s a misjudgment, or can’t evaluate talent, but it’s more the refusal to adapt to the team game plan. If podz took away from the team dynamic, idk. But Tre White definitely was more a, give me the ball and let me work, type of player. Go and rewatch when he’d get benched. He may be a natural scorer and play maker, but BU expects you to play his style and play defenseIt’s hard for me to buy the “they see them in practice.”
They saw a first rounder in practice with Podz.
Heck, just last year alone:
They saw Tre White in practice and he gets benched, he’s shooting 3s at a high clip this year
They saw DGL for years and he is excelling at UNLV with the ball in his hands
They saw Morez and apparently he couldn’t shoot and not foul out, but is doing well getting more minutes in a big heavy lineup
They saw Carey Booth in practice as well. He played decent minutes at ND and sat here. He is now getting more minutes at Co State and is even productive than he was at ND. I didn’t think the kid could walk and chew gum in an Illinois uniform. I seriously thought he was special and was here bc of who his father is.
Every game is different, but defense is essential. Can we hide Petrovic on the defensive end? I think it's somewhat doable, but I don't see the need to, unless our offense starts tanking. Seeing what AS did defensively, and what Jake did offensively, granted in a very small sample size, it appears we can "keep playing the same lineup." If an adjustment needs to be made, it sounds like it's a player mentality adjustment first, and then a team lineup adjustment if warranted.Because our nominal point guard who has played the most minutes on the team is now hurt and needs replacing, and we have a 23 year old veteran professional basketball player at that position who we spent a ton of NIL on.
I'd like to keep playing the same lineup that has brought us our recent success, but sadly we can't, at least not for the next month.
It’s worth noting that Boswell isn’t our primary point, Keaton is.Because our nominal point guard who has played the most minutes on the team is now hurt and needs replacing, and we have a 23 year old veteran professional basketball player at that position who we spent a ton of NIL on.

ALL OF THISIt’s worth noting that Boswell isn’t our primary point, Keaton is.
And because Petrovic would be completely useless off the ball, since he can’t shoot or play defense, every minute he’s in the game is a minute Keaton doesn’t have the ball in his hands.
Which makes our offense slightly worse and our defense a lot worse.

Everyone always wants to see so-and-so get more minutes. My man Indy, I would like to see more of Lee in the rotation right along with you as I would like to see more Petro. I know there are only so many minutes to go around, but certain matchups could definitely see a few more tossed his way especially if they’re not going to play Petro.
You and others are correct about Petro’s effort on D and maybe getting it right in the couple of minutes he gets more often than not getting it right. However, Mirk getting upset like he did shouldn’t happen. That’s bad body language as well and not being a good teammate. He also misses a lot of assignments on D. In fact far too often our entire Defensive execution (don’t get me started on scheme) is atrocious.
Anyone who'd like to sit Wagler... just know we're averaging 1.351 points per possession with him on the court from the Tennessee game onward. So, that's the production you're sacrificing.Everyone always wants to see so-and-so get more minutes.
So who is playing less? If you play Petrovic and Lee... you're sitting Wagler more?
If you can’t figure out what I was trying to say i don’t know what to tell you.2 techs = 4 fouls.
This was the quote, how do you get points out of that? No where was points mentioned. It is crazy how some people read something entirely different than what was printed on the page?
