I wondered how KJ and Boswell was going to work, but it has worked well. I wasn’t particularly impressed with Kylan until the Alabama game. He was able to compete physically when most of our guys got tossed around like rag dolls. He really played well today, as well.

I think it took him a couple games to realize that he could get in the lane and finish. He didn't really have a lot of space to do that at Arizona. Also maybe a couple games to figure out that he has to be the LEADER of this team in terms of toughness for them to reach their potential.

At this point I’m certain Ty Rodgers would do more for this team than Tre White. We already got 4 guys in the lineup that can all shoot the 3. There is room for a 5th guy to do all the dirty work and play the dunker spot which Ty could.
Are we still doing this? One guy accepted the role he earned. One didn’t.
let it go GIF

I’m interested to see how the tv ratings were. Competing against NFL and other basketball games. However Chicago market might have kept the station on if they weren’t too mad

Great to get our first big win under our belt. Offense and defense both took steps forward today. We can still get A LOT better than we showed this evening, particularly on help defense and clearing our defensive boards...which is extremely exciting.

Congratulations to our guys. They've earned their right to celebrate. Happy Thanksgiving to all fellow Illini diehard out there. Hoping that your Turkey Day meal is as delicious as the one I'm taking a break from to type this.

After watching Eberflus lose another game in another blunder fashioned way, this was a great treat to see complete dominance from start to finish by the Illini. Both Ivisic brothers put on a show today but Tomislav bested his brother on this day. So glad that we have him. He is a better version of Giorgi and I liked Giorgi. He has such great touch from the 3 pt line. I like the big man 1-2 punch between him and Morez. Both do different things but provide great balance for our frontcourt.

Boswell starting to adjust into his role on this team and glad to see him have another great game against a high level opponent. His experience will be immense for us. KJ put it into another gear in the 2nd half. We have some dangerous guys on this team and they're nowhere near their ceiling yet.

For the people that heckled me about Tre White....once again, I'm telling you that I told you so. Ty Rodgers would be doing more for this team than Tre White. Starter played 11 mins? That's a bad sign for him and a good sign for Will Riley. Also, Dre needs to be getting more minutes. He should be getting 15-18 mins per game at this point. Nice to see him get some more PT today

Very impressive today. Stayed poised under Arkansas constant pressure. We shoot like that from 3 and we are going to win a lot of games. Defense seems to be getting better and we can keep improving that, we could go a long way in March.

I wonder how long until Arkansas' fanbase gets sick of Calipari? I don't think that Calipari is going to be very successful in this potential final stint of his coaching career. I can't imagine him having the success that Muss had in the long run. Where was Johnell Davis at? Is he just mailing it in or not being utilized properly?

Among the many things I am thankful for is getting to watch this group demonstrate their many talents. Not only are they pretty darn good at basketball, they are fun to watch.
I thought Arkansas pressured the ball really hard, but Boswell and KJ handled it. When Arkansas looked like it might make a late run, KJ just took over. He seems to adapt his game no matter what the opponent throws at him. Unflappable. Tough.
Happy Thanksgiving!

That was pretty freakin huge!!

Wire-to-wire win. Big stage. Fast start. We looked pretty composed throughout. Sloppy at times. Didn’t love some of the offensive choices. But we shot lights out today and always had a response back on every run. Also, it appears we got the better twin 😜

We’ll see in the next week or two if we’re as good as we look right now or if Arkansas was overrated.

I (think I have been an Illini fan for too long (5 decades) as starting in the 2nd Qtr, I keep looking for Arky to tie it up.

One of the great things about today’s new era of College Ball (when you turn your roster over now every season) is that the new guys DON’T KNOW and don’t CARE about anything that happened before in your program.

The fans have the long memory – but not the current players bearing your team’s logo. Everything is new and fresh to them and they make their own memories.
(And ours).
