Coleman must've had his picture taken with about 50 fans by my count today.

Very cool! Wonder if he's regretting leaving the Orange and Blue? K State has been a bit suspect to start the year

The thing i love most at this point is that, like last year, the guys really seem to like each other.

KJ and TI seem like genuinely nice people who care for their teammates. This makes such a difference, as we know.

I was concerned about possible primadonna-y attitudes from them, wrongly obviously.

We win by 25 if they don't give Thiero a trip to the line every time he goes near a defender. He's definitely a baller and some trips were warranted but there were others where he would just throw himself horizontally into folks in what didn't appear to be a genuine move to score.
I seem to remember TSJ and Ayo doing the same move. That’s what scorers do. My 13 y.o. granddaughter has already learned it and I am damn proud.

Agreed.

Don't think we should be much concerned about this moving forward either... Brad has proven to be able to rally the troops with effective chemistry... 22/23 was just a bit coincidental IMO.

UCONN with the 3 laid eggs? 28!!! Only that high from blue blood treatment
It had nothing to do with blue blood treatment. It is solely based on analytics.

I suspect why they haven't been hurt to the extent expected is because the first two losses were by 2 and one point, respectively. The beatdown yesterday definitely hurt them. However, they are propped up by the efficiency in their first four games.

Once the season plays out more, these rankings will be much more stable.

Also, one heck of a game from the Illini. The stat line looks like a very close game, but the 3 point disparity in Illini favor was huge. This truly felt like what Bama did to us: every time Arkansas felt like they were going to make a run, the Illini hit a big shot. It is so great to have a wire to wire win against a ranked foe. It was such a low stress game, and it was a refreshment from the stink fest of the Bears.

Great win. Others have said it we did to Arkansas that Alabama did to us

2 Riley points - have always admired when Duke players take for ever to in bound after a made basket end of half or game. Riley did it at the end of the first half. Made bucket with :36 seconds. He didn’t pickup ball and waited for it to get tossed to him and inbounded with :31 didn’t result in points for Illinois but none for Arkansas either. Smart player.

Also he handled ball as secondary ball handler flawlessly.

Both little things but winning plays

Makes multiple hustle plays a game too. Really sets the tone for everyone
Honestly, that is the difference between US leagues and other leagues (without evidence). US leagues, especially the NCAA your point diff at the end of the game really matters. In Euro leagues (more professional) it doesn't matter how much you win by just win. If the Arkansas player picked that up and dunked it (guessing it happens more in the US than elsewhere, since out pride is so easily hurt and satiated) things could have looked much worse for a great win.

Great game by KJ, for the most part. I was getting a little tired of the drives into the teeth of the D in the paint, just to end in a wrap-around that hits three defenders, or a double-pump-fake that ends in a block. He will get better, and his teammates will get better at anticipating that drive and making themselves available when the D collapses. 5 TOs to 4 assists isn't good enough, most games. Almost seems like he's not used to playing against this kind of athlete, but there are plenty of dudes in Europe. Either way, when he is able to convert those drives more consistently into points, fouls and assists, he'll be crazy good.

As the younger brother, I totally feel Tomi’s desire to go straight at his older brother all game. 21 points on 6-9 from 3, with 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocks. You can tell that meant a lot to him.
I understand the urge. It wasn't smart. His brother knew his moves too well and sat waiting for the blocks. Tomi lost pretty much all (all?) of the attempts to go 1:1 vs. his brother near the basket. He should have stopped trying after the first two failures and stuck with what was working. The win is what you hold over the sibling, not the single play.

I suspect Tre was told to not shoot. He was be looking for where he was going to pass the ball before he ever received it. He wasn't even thinking about setting his feet for a shot.
